Sonal Oza, M.D. is a board-certified physician in physical medicine & rehabilitation (PM&R) who subspecializes in cancer rehabilitation medicine. Her goal is to maximize and restore physical function throughout the care continuum from diagnosis to post-treatment survivorship care.
Dr. Oza evaluates and manages musculoskeletal and neurological sequelae resulting from cancer and its treatment. Examples include musculoskeletal pain or dysfunction, pelvic floor conditions, neuropathy, lymphedema, gait and balance conditions, and cognitive dysfunction. She identifies symptoms that prevent individuals from continuing treatment or from fully participating in their daily activities-at school, work, and home, in the community and for recreation.
Dr. Oza develops personalized, comprehensive rehabilitation plans. These typically include a targeted therapy prescription, physical exercise prescription, non-opioid pain medication management, interventional procedures (joint and muscle trigger point injections), orthotic & prosthetic prescription, and assistive device prescription. She works closely with the oncology teams and other medical specialists to ensure the rehabilitation recommendations are feasible.
Dr. Oza completed her medical residency at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine/Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly known as the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago). During this time, she received a certificate in medical education through the McGaw Medical Education Clinical Scholars Program. She subsequently completed a fellowship in cancer rehabilitation medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. She has research interests in care delivery, implementation science and community engagement. Dr. Oza is able to see patients both in person and virtually in Utah, Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.

Dr did not examine me where the pain was. We just talked about pain and exercises to help. I think she should have at least poked the pain full area or something to find out exactly where pain was

HUNTSMAN CANCER CENTER
I came in for a specific problem. I also came in due to a car accident to have injuries checked and answers given. It is interesting to me how many health care providers these days do not address the problem or seek the answer. However they are quick to prescribe or do a procedure to put a band aid on the problem yet not address or find the root of the problem. Very discouraged. And have had to go to two different other providers to now seek the care needed.
