  • Dr. Melissa Zappa, DAc, Lac, holds a Doctor of Acupuncture degree from Won Institute of Graduate Studies, a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the National University of Health Sciences near Chicago, IL. Melissa completed post-graduate internships in Nanjing, China at Jiangsu Provincial Hospital and has pursued additional integrative and oncology training from Memorial Sloan Kettering and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO.) Dr. Zappa is an adjunct professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and serves as the current Co-Coordinator for the HCI Survivorship Committee. She is also an affiliate of the University of Utah’s Osher Center for Integrative Medicine.

    Melissa’s clinical treatment specialties include gastrointestinal (nausea, digestive upset, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, etc) and hormonal disturbances (hot flashes, night sweats) due to cancer and its treatment.
