Sarah Norton, MD, MA, is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Utah Hospital. As an Internal Medicine physician, her research interests include Global Health, Medical Anthropology and Health Diplomacy.
Dr. Norton completed a MA in Medical Anthropology from the University of Colorado, Denver developing a research interest in disparities of health in regions of conflict. While in medical school, she pursued a Doris Duke International Clinical Research Fellowship through Yale University in Tugela Ferry, South Africa working with Community Health Workers to evaluate the implementation of Isoniazid Preventive Therapy, to pilot Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for at risk women in the community and to integrate communicable and non-communicable disease prevention, screening and treatment efforts. She enrolled in the Global Health Pathway at the Duke Global Health Institute and is currently pursuing a MS in Global Health exploring the potential of Social Determinant of Health Screening at a Federally Qualified Health Center to address the impact of COVID-19 on at risk immigrant and refugee families.
Dr. Norton received her medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. She received training in the department of medicine at the Duke University School of Medicine.
