  • Dr. Umansky completed his clinical and research fellowship in the Peripheral Nerve Surgery Research program at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences and the Hotchkiss Brain Institute at the University of Calgary and in the section of Neurosurgery at the Alberta Health Services in Canada in July 2022. Prior to this, Dr. Umansky completed his six-year training as a neurosurgeon at the Department of Neurosurgery, Sourasky (Ichilov) Medical Center in Tel-Aviv, Israel in 2018. Dr. Umansky was a tutor in the Tel-Aviv University and is an active member of the European Association of Neurological Surgeons. He is certified as a Fellow of the European Board of Neurological Surgery (FEBNS) after completing their 4-year cycle training program and board exams. Dr. Umansky has been invited by several international departments as guest speaker and is a member of the European Association of Neurological Surgery, the American Society for Peripheral Nerve, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He has published several peer reviewed papers and editorials along with several book chapters and participated in several international neurosurgical conferences in which he presented his work. Dr. Umansky was recently awarded the David Kline Peripheral Nerve Research award from the AANS/CNS joint section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves as well as the Denyse Lajoie-Lake award in brain research from the Hotchkiss Brain Institute.
