  • Dr Alan Jacobsen MB. BCh. BAO. is an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Galway, Ireland. He completed a combined Medical/Surgical internship at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin, Ireland and basic specialty training in General Internal Medicine at University Hospital Galway, Ireland. He completed Internal Medicine residency in the Osler Program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Maryland. He subsequently completed his Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital where he received dedicated training in Sports Cardiology and Echocardiography.

    Dr Jacobsen has a wide clinical practice in the care of heart disease with particular interest in care of the athletic heart, cardiovascular prevention and echocardiography. He is also interested in medical education and is involved in teaching medical students, residents and fellows. Dr Jacobsen is board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible in Cardiovascular Disease and Echocardiography.
