  • Born and raised in a medical family in Southern California, I was interested in family medicine from an early age. I obtained my bachelor’s degree from UC Davis and my medical degree from The Ohio State University. I completed my Family Medicine residency at Long Beach Memorial, where I was lucky to work in a diverse city and see patients of all ages and backgrounds. Following this, I worked in a rural farming community in Central Valley of California. I am thrilled to be joining University of Utah. I love to take care of entire families, from newborns to centenarians. My specific interests include women’s health, office procedures, LGBTQ Care, and mental health. I am undergoing specialized training through UC Irvine in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, with emphasis on ADHD and pediatric anxiety and depression. Outside of medicine, I enjoy indoor soccer, tennis, skiing, and spending time with my husband and my Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Amber.

She seems like a really good doctor. I've only seen her once but I think I'm glad she's my doctor now. I like that she included some paperwork that described my purpose of the visit which was cool because there were somethings I forgot about that were included in the papers and I would've definetly spaced them had she not included them.

She takes the time and patience to listen to what I have to say. She is the reason we left our previous doctor and started with her

We had been looking for a new dr when our past one couldn't see my husband until January 3rd. He had spent 2 days in a hospital just before thanksgiving and was told to follow up with his PCP. Tried to make an appt but they said there wasn't an appt available until January 3. The gal on the phone to make the appt gave us the opportunity for a quicker appt and the next day, we saw Dr Burstein and were hooked from the moment we walked in.

Dr. Burstein took her time and asked a ton of questions to clarify. Then responded thoughtfully to each of my many questions.
