Dr. Zakama earned her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, San Francisco, where she served as the Equity and Inclusion Chief Resident. She went on to complete her fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, gaining extensive expertise in managing complex pregnancies. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Zakama is actively involved in medical student education, mentoring the next generation of physicians. Her research interests focus on birth equity, addressing disparities in maternal and fetal outcomes, and improving mental health care during pregnancy. She is currently accepting new patients for high-risk OB care, preconception, and perinatal counseling.
