  • Alison Brann is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the section of Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at the University of Utah. Alison grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah before attending the University of Notre Dame for her undergraduate degree and Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois for her Medical Degree. She then completed her training in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease at the University of California San Diego where she received multiple excellence in clinical research awards. She subsequently completed training in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at the University of Utah in 2024.

    Dr. Brann specializes in the care of patients with advanced heart failure, including patients requiring mechanical circulatory support and cardiac transplantation. Her clinical and research interests also include the management of patients with hypertrophic and inherited cardiomyopathies. Dr. Brann is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Echocardiography. Her work has been published in top medical journals including JAMA Cardiology, JACC: Heart Failure, and the European Journal of Heart Failure. Dr. Brann is also interested in medical education and is involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
