  • Benjamin Carrick, PA-C is a certified Physician Assistant and works in Surgical Oncology at University of Utah Health. He is also the Lead APC for the new Division of Surgical Oncology, which includes: complex abdominal, melanoma, sarcoma, breast, and endocrine sections. In his current role in the division of Surgical Oncology, he is involved in the post-op care of complex surgical oncology patients, including esophageal, gastric, HPB, small intestine, colon, and HIPEC patients. His team also provides care for melanoma and abdominal sarcoma patients. His involvement is primarily post-operative care, and occasional assistance in the operating room. He started a benign pancreatic cyst surveillance clinic in 2022. He also performs procedures in his clinic, including PowerPort removal, Tunnel Line removal, and fat pad biopsies. He was the recipient of the University of Utah Department of Surgery APC Excellence Award in Clinical Practice in 2022. He is also the clinical advisor for Clinical Documentation and Integrity for the Department of Surgery.

    Ben is a Charlotte, NC native who has lived in the Salt Lake City area since 2021. Outside of work, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife+ kids, skiing, hiking, playing pickleball, and traveling.

    Appreciated his kindness, and explaining things in layman terms for me. Answered my questions gave me good answers to my pros and cons question for my situation. Very knowledgeable and quick.
