One thing that stands out to me is that my treatments were explained and I was able to feel engaged in the process. After some precancerous treatments, I didn't feel afraid and we had a plan for my return. As I approach 60 years old, I feel confident that Dr. Lewis will watch out for me for many years to come. She truly cares about her patients.

allowed medical student to be included. felt like the focus was more on the medical student then me. dr explained various issues to student that I did not understand. Felt like a specimen more than a patient.
dr Lewis disregarded my concerns and told me she didn't want to hear why I suspected a certain condition. she had a diagnosis and didn't even listen to my opinion it concerns. and didn't offer any advice on where to get my concerns heard. I felt very small and insignificant in her presence.

I did not want to discuss skin issues in my groin with a man. I didn't have the opportunity to privately talk with the doctor, only in the presence of 2 young men. I was very stressed by the situation and did not talk about all of my issues. Since I felt like the education experience was put above my own comfort and care, I am not sure that I will continue to go to the University of Utah. I wish appointments were private and did not include an intern and a note-taker, both men. Had I been able to opt for only women, I would have felt a lot more comfortable but only me and the doctor would be ideal.

Dr. Bethany Lewis is absolutely the best!! She was very concerned when I discussed the worries I had with my skin being I have had problems with skin cancer for quite some time. We discussed treatment options and she took biopsy samples from a couple of areas on my face that she felt may need Mohs surgery in which she was right. Mohs was scheduled and once it was done and healed plan was to start Fluorouracil cream on other areas. Dr.Lewis was great she made me feel positive and I havent felt that way in a long time. And yes I have already recommended her.
