  • Charity graduated from University of Nebraska’s Interservice Physician Assistant Program in 2004. As a new PA she fulfilled a few overseas assignments with the Utah National Guard in Nicaragua and Iraq before attending a PA residency in surgical critical care at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2007.

    Charity came to the University of Utah in 2008 as a member of the Trauma Surgery team, with her responsibilities eventually including work for the acute care surgery team, and a leadership role. Charity earned a Masters degree in clinical operations and healthcare management at George Washington University in 2020. She also completed a Doctorate degree in Physician Assistant Studies, with an emphasis in Global Health, from MCPHS University in May of 2022.

    Charity transitioned to academic work in the U of U PA program in 2021, where she is a faculty member on the Clinical Rotations Team. Charity also teaches trauma and hospital medicine during the didactic year. Her professional interests include optimizing the management of injured patients in both resource-rich and austere environments. She is committed to training the next generation of health care professionals to provide high-value and compassionate care.
