Dr. Cushman is like a farmer, OUTSTANDING in his FIELD!
Exceptional care.
After two failed surgeries on my foot and ankle that damaged my nerve and caused my leg to atrophy up to my knee, Dr. Cushman and a team of surgeons from the foot and ankle department repaired what one doctor told me was the worst foot they had ever seen. I had nerve damage repaired, a tendon cut, and a ligament removed. Dr. Cushman most recently performed a nerve hydro dissection that has been causing me incredible pain in my heal for quite some time. I can tell that it has improved greatly, although I have not finished out the recovery time. I have finally gotten relief from a painful nerve on the bottom of my heal. I am so grateful that he was willing to try one more thing.
Dr. Cushman is a marvel. I am the kind of patient who asks a hundred questions. That's partly out of nerves. But it also reflects my faith in this physician's empathy and skill. I know he wants me to understand where his treatment logic is heading; he wants me to be fully informed. He clearly enjoys explaining what's happening with the needles, with the antiseptics, with the ultrasound scanner, and with the meds. And I am as curious as can be about all those things. I have some difficult decisions to make about continued therapy for a painful, wacky knee joint. He and I had a genuinely informative *two-way* conversation about several treatment strategies. How rare is that? Oh, and his technical skills (think: poking long needles into very touchy joints) is superb. Essentially painless, because he takes the time to inject with care and planning.
Great explanation of procedure.

The office staff was friendly and went out their way to be helpful, Eveann even printed a map for me to find my next location, since I was not familiar with Salt Lake City. Dr. Cushman is pleasure to work with. Imagine, I look *forward* to him inserting needles into my knees. He works so hard to minimize discomfort. I ask a lot of questions, a professional habit. His patience in answering those, and in explaining options and future strategies, is a marvel. He devotes his complete attention to the patient.

This was one of my best doctor visits ever, for any type of doctor!
The person that gave me the epidural was wonderful. He was very helpful and concerned for how I was doing. Then he answered all my questions.
I have been turned away for any treatment concerning my lengthy and severely debilitating injury from all involved with my care by the facility, as a whole, where my injury was obtained. I have been refused care because I am now a liability to them even though the majority of my remaining issues were because of an injury obtained during medical treatment that I obtained from this other establishment. I have been given all available resources, tests, and procedures that I needed in order to move forward from this injury.
At my appointment and in a previous email Dr Cushman addressed all my issues and concerns.
I had excellent care once I was able to schedule an appointment and see a doctor.
Dr. Cushman and Megan were very tentative and reassuring
Dr. Cushman is one of the most pleasant and informative physicians I have ever met. I turn 70 next year. I have met *a lot* of physicians. :-)
