(I know it's an important part, I have seen eye doctors since I was born) just a rough time considering I couldn't work for hours after. The doctor I had however was absolutely amazing. He was so nice about explaining everything, and making sure I knew of all options. I will continue seeing him.

I didn't know that eyedrops with antihistamines existed and I have worn glasses for 62 years. No one ever mentioned that I could have a better experience with outdoor volunteer activities up until now. I bought those eyedrops because I will be outside again tomorrow and I already started using them to be ready. What a great thing! And I enjoyed my appointment with him.

One of my main problems is double vision. He did not address this at all until he was asked about it when he was leaving. Then he had to spend more time looking at and considering this problem. Really didn't seem to have looked at any notes from my previous visits to Moran or notes from my opthomologist from my home town. Didn't realize I had had 3 eye surgeries previously despite this being in my notes. I had to tell him this also because he seemed unaware of it and didn't know about it until I mentioned it.

He also was very friendly and asked about my family and other things that had happened in the community that week. Overall I was very impressed with him.

After this one appointment and the new contacts the doctor prescribed, my vision is better than it has ever been and I can wear contacts the entire day without pain and irritation, which I never thought was possible. Additionally, the Moran Eye Center created the most welcoming, patient friendly atmosphere, from the person I checked in with, to the doctor, to the people I ordered my trial contacts with, even a random employee on the first floor who gave me directions to where I was looking for with a smile. UNIVERSITY OF UTAH MIDVALLEY HEALTH CENTERDoctor Pettey presribed steroid eye drops which are not covered by my Medicare Rx plan. With the pharmacy's discount the price is $169. Both the pharmacy and I called Dr. Pettey's office to ask if either a different Rx could be sent in for something my insurance covers or if the process could be started to get a prior approval from the insurance. The sample bottle I was given of a similar steroid drop is running out, and It doesn't work as well as I'd like--partial relief that lasts for about 3 hours with dosing instructions of every 6 hours. My eye still bothers me quite a bit and I'm about to go ahead and pay the $169.
