  • Dr. Emily Thorell received her medical degree from the University of Utah and completed her pediatric residency and pediatric infectious disease fellowship at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City, Missouri. She is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics Infectious Diseases at the University of Utah and Primary Children´s Hospital. Dr. Thorell’s clinical interests include appropriate antimicrobial use, antibiotic resistant pathogens, the epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2, and Hospital Epidemiology. She serves as the Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program for Primary Children’s Hospital as well as the Associate Hospital Epidemiologist.
