When Craig Smith, OD, retired a few years ago (his father had been my optometrist in CA and I had been seeing Dr. Smith for some 15 years or more, my wife and I decided to look in Utah Valley for our vision care. We did not go to the U of U Moran Eye Center initially but tried another well-known firm. After a couple of years we went to the Orem office of the U of U Health and were seen by Dr. Hulewsky. We like him and the way he treated us. When he transferred to the Murray office, we followed him there for our next visitation.
Dr. Hulewsky is wonderful. He is easy to talk to and helps you understand any concerns or questions you might have.

Three members of our family had eye appointments with Dr. Hulewsky on 6/21/2024. He treated each of us as individuals and was very professional and prompt. Because my husband and I are senior citizens he shared with us information about cataract surgery and aging during our appointments. Our daughter received information concerning contacts and glasses. None of us felt pressure or uncomfortable as we shared information about our eye health. We were given time needed and afterwards my husband commented: "I appreciated that the doctor performed all the tasks necessary and didn't involve any techs in the process". I totally agreed. His receptionist was friendly and thorough during check in, and he performed all the testing in a most professional way. We even recommended his office to another daughter that afternoon. Dr Hulewsky is amazing. First I didn't have to wait for long. He was prompt and got down to checking my eyes. He is clear in explaining what he saw after he dilated my eyes. Overall a good experience.

Dr Hulewsky was helpful, thorough and efficient for my eye exam to update my contact prescription. He helped me get exactly what I needed, and was patient with the fact my 5 year old had to accompany me to my appointment.
First of all, the contacts re-check was free, which was really nice. Second, Dr Hulewsky was extremely solicitous of my care and my overall eye health, and did a rigorous and lengthy eye exam. Considering that I was there WELL past 5 PM (when the clinic and the doctors are supposed to go home), I just cannot say enough good things about Dr Hulewsky and all the staff with whom I interacted.

He was very efficient but I don't think he did a very good job of evaluating my eyes. I paid $290 for my new contacts, and maybe when they arrive they will be correct and work well for me, but given the very brief examination the doctor gave me, I very much doubt it. This was the first negative experience I've ever had at Moran.

I became a patient of Dr. Pettey when Dr. Mifflin gave up his practice and have been very pleased with the care I have received. It is not often that a doctor will personally escort a patient to an examination room and that is what Dr. Pettey did the first time I saw him. It is his personal touch that impressed me and continues to do so. He really cares about his patients and it shows.
the only problem that I had was not Ethan fault. I had an appointment in Farmington then I was sent to the Uof U in Salt Lake then I was sent to Ethan. It took almost 6 months for me to see someone.

Sometimes I've had to ask follow-up questions to get definitive answers. In the past, when I wasn't sure about the implications of my various eye issues, I didn't know exactly what questions to ask to obtain more definitive explanations. Having a physician anticipate and share information about diagnosis, treatment options and potential prognosis would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.

I could have asked questions, but I felt Dr. Chamberlain offered very little information regarding the "results" he saw from my recheck after laser surgery last week. Of course, Dr. Simpson is my ophthalmologist, and I understand Dr. Chamberlain was only filling in for her during her absence. No decisions/changes needed to be made for my upcoming "care."

Jonathan is a very compassionate provider. He strives to hear the concerns of the patient and uses his medical knowledge with that compassion to help them understand their condition and what steps can be taken to help them heal and/or to live with their condition.
My time with Dr. Vitale was brief. He and I had a short conversation about the fact that I'm a "snowbird" and have to have my injections between Georgia and Utah. He was very accommodating about this issue.

She already asked if anything had changed and could see on MyChart my current insurance coverage. Embarrassing a bit for me at this time in life after 22.5 years of having private insurance and becoming a caregiver post Covid..a temporary financial circumstance.
I have always had dry eyes and a previous doctor just jumped to a prescription that was not the most comfortable thing for me. In contrast, Dr. Gabe gave me multiple options I could choose from or do a combination of that made me feel a lot more comfortable. He listened to my past experiences and catered his medical advice to fit my needs and preferences. I greatly appreciated his attentiveness and care.

The doctor is great. I would NEVER recommend anyone go to the University Healthcare System based on how awful your front-end staff is throughout the system. Half the time I can't even get healthcare from you because your staff is either so incompetent or just doesn't give a crap; I don't know which it is, but it's awful dealing with them.

Dr. Hulewsky was amazing. He took extra time to get the Rx for my right eye exactly right, after I had some issues with my previous right eye Rx and not being able to focus well when wearing glasses. He also spent a ton of time talking to me about my dry eye and how to manage it. I have never been so impressed by an eye doctor. I am so glad I made the trip to Orem to see him.

Everyone provided excellent care and concern for me.
I was left hanging about the small cataracts that have formed. I explained theat "I can see." Even with my glasses and well rested eyes, things are blurry. When I asked about our plan the doctor said "you'll know when to come back." He said my vision would be blurry enough to Interfere with my daily life. That's exactly why I came In. Although the cataracts are small, I can't see "through them." I appreciated his exam for a diabetes check up, but again, I was left hanging about what to do about things being blurry!
