Dr Fixmer is the best. He is so easy to talk to about any concerns I have. He spends time checking and double checking before adding to or reducing my medications. He follows up with me on the previous visit checking on my progress. I've never heard Dr Fixmer ask me why I have come in to be seen. That's because he has been briefed ahead of time by his intake nurse. The quality of care I've come to know with Dr Fixmer is amazing.

This appointment was my first appointment with Dr. Fixmer since I wasn't able see my PCP that I have established care with since I moved to SLC for my pharmacy residency and I really enjoyed received the patient care he provided even with the appointment being virtual. I think he did very well with taking into consideration my level of health literacy in our discussion of my care and did well with including me in the decision making of my care as well. After this appointment, I may actually consider seeing him for future appointments as well.

Dr. Suggested some medication options. All were postponed for a later follow-up visit in 3 weeks. The next day I was notified by my mail-order pharmacy that he had ordered a blood pressure medication for me. Since we didn't talk about it, I will not know if I should take it instead of, or in addition to the 2 I am currently taking.

This visit was to establish care with a new provider as my previous provider has left University Health Care. Dr. Fixmer was kind and thoughtful. He listened to my concerns and provided me with options which we talked through TOGETHER and made decisions. I also had a PAP smear done as well. He talked me through each and every step he was taking. At 61 years old - this is the first time this has ever happened and it was such a positive experience in what can be, and has been in the past, an embarrassing moment.
Even though Dr Fixmer was very busy that day, he took all the time I needed to ask questions and he answered all of them. He did not seem rushed at all and was very thorough in all that he did.

Dr Fixmer showed me on screen diagrams of my heart showing where my stents had been placed in the past at pointed out the restricted areas we have been working on same with my history of 1ac compared to my current readings. Also he listened to me about my current struggles with grief and depression plus helped me download the Utah safe app on to my phone as a resource.
