Evan has been great the two times that I have seen him. He is very consultative, meaning that he talks with me in a way that I feel very involved in my care. He shows concern for me and my needs. It is unclear whether or not my condition requires immediate treatment, and he is sensitive to that, not wanting to overtreat.

I am working with Evan Thomas PA in Urology. He is certainly easy to work with and if you are a 67 year old man with the need to see a medical care professional because you are having urology issues, you want to see someone who knows what the hell they are talking about as well as someone that can calm you down. My blood pressure is always high when I visit a Doctor. Visiting a Urologist, it was skyrocketing. The Staff at U of U Urology has been AMAZING!

You can not communicate with him unless he decides to see you. You can't leave a message or if you do you are told it may take 3 days. No email, no phone. Had serious issues and was looking for advice. Called Urology department 3 times and they kept referring to my upcoming appointment. Well screw that, I ended up in the ER again! In this day and age, the utter failure to communicate or receive advice is laughable.

Poor documentation of previous tests (x2 urine flow study). 2 reasons for visits, one resolved well, the second reason was forgotten, and reminders had to be given, then another study was ordered and then confirmation on second problem and another study ordered (4 months out, due to broken equipment)
This initial visit was mainly searching for what may be wrong. I was hoping someone would give me time to explain and just listen. My hopes were answered. So appreciate his listening ear!!!

Evan went above and beyond as we talked about my history of kidney stones and that I have not had any in the last three years. He has ordered a CT to verify I am not making stones and just not passing them. My PSA was elevated so I will have a recheck.

John seems like a great guy. And I'm grateful for him for taking me on as a new patient. After the most recent US showed no hernia. He sent me a sincere empathetic note. ¿Sorry. No surgery.¿ Ultimately I'm looking for normal function and not to be in pain. So that US didn't show a hernia. But I looked him and Durtchi and every Dr. in the eye and said I'm in sooo much pain. Please help. If it's not the hernia, let's keep looking. Long term PT is underway. But that's more of an unknown as to when and if it will help. I can't live like this, Dr's needs to match that urgency and help me out. I'm like a can and Dr's are kicking me back and forth. I'm a human. Single Dad 8 and 10 year old. Help us.

My experience with John Evan Thomas was very positive. He was very knowlegeable about the health problems I have been having and gave me suggestions for some treatments to consider for the future. He listened to me and answered all my questions and gave me a good amount of time explaining possible treatments. I was very impressed with him and feel very comfortable seeing him in the future.

I indicated to the doctor I wanted to have a urine analysis, so for them to please, collect a sample as they replaced my permanent outside catheter with a new one. He indicated they would do that, but that never happened, as they informed my wife this morning when she called to find out the results of such analysis.

Spot on analysis and RX recommendation prior to surgery greatly relieved my pain.
He was very helpful in diagnosing my condition and recommending treatment.
Dr. Thomas seems to be well versed in his field of knowledge, and explains it all clearly and thoroughly. Apparently, there just doesn't seen to be much that can be done to fix my condition without moving up to the next step of specialists. We will try one more appointment in 6 months, I guess.
I appreciated that he asked me at 65 yrs old and my 68 yr old wife with a straight face if we had an inclination to become pregnant. Of your going to be a PA in this particular Specialty, you better damn well have a sense of humor. He was calm, reassuring and listened to me and did not talk down to me. Can we adopt him please rather than be pregnant!

I am truly grateful to Dr. Thomas and his staff. He was able to help resolve my perennial problem with infections. He provided the access to treatment I needed both for now and in the future. His knowledge, combined with his care and kindness gave me the help I needed.
When Evan Thomas walked into the examination room he had already done his homework, He had reveiwed my history, reviewed my current condition and listened to the assistant with my concerns. He explained plainly what he thought was going on and then we did what was necessary to confirm. I am already scheduled for another procedure.
