  • Julie Savage, APRN, FNP-BC, MSN, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Utah in the outpatient Cardiology clinic. During her many years of nursing experience she has focused primarily in emergency care and cardiology with additional interests in international health care.

    Julie received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Brigham Young University in 1995, graduating with cum laude honors. She worked the majority of her time as a Registered Nurse in Emergency Care at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada and the University of Utah Hospital. After 5 years of clinical practice she followed long term goal and returned to school at the University of Utah graduating in 2002 with a Masters degree in Nursing, with emphasis as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Since that time she enjoyed pioneering usage of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in the University of Utah Emergency Department. She enjoyed the excitement of the ER for 8 years and then more recently shifted her emphasis to cardiac care with an interest in prevention and women’s cardiovascular health. Over the years she has enjoyed several brief international nursing experiences in Guatemala, Costa Rica and Peru.
