Mine is a difficult case, but Dr Peterson has worked very hard to find a way to help me get better. I was ready to "release her" from being my doctor several months ago, but she wants to see it through. She is always looking for new treatment options for me and is very dedicated to my case.
Dr Peterson is simply one of the best care providers I've ever had, regardless of specialty. She's engaged in every aspect of care and genuinely cares about outcome
Dr. Kathryn Peterson is honestly the best doctor in the University of Utah health care system and the best GI I have ever had over the past 20 years. Her genuine care for her patients is unmatched. Her brilliance in her field is incredible. I've seen over 20 GIs around the US over the past 20 years. I would, without question, travel to see her to ensure continued care if I ever have to move.
Kathryn Peterson is very down to earth and takes her time and effort to be personable with you while being very clear and kind.
Dr. Peterson is a thorough physician who takes time to explain what is going on with you and what treatment options are available to help with your condition and symptoms. She loves what she does and ensures she is up to date on the latest research for your condition. I highly recommend Dr. Peterson!

Kathy Peterson is the most phenomenal doctor I have ever had. She cares about all of your problems and really makes you feel validated and understood. All of her staff that I have interacted with are wonderful and very detail oriented. The whole team operates great and really makes me as a patient feel how much compassion they have for helping me.
Dr Peterson was awesome!! She explained things so thoroughly and took the time we needed.
Dr. Peterson is the best doctor I have had. I have seen many doctors throughout my life and have discussed many different issues affecting my quality of life, but none of them seemed to care to find the answers. After some time I just began to think that I was crazy, or that the symptoms I constantly experience are just normal things that everyone experiences; then I met Dr. Peterson. She really listened to me (like REALLY listened) and had more concern for my problems than I did. After my first visit with her I felt validated, understood and a whole lot better.
I was supposed to get ENT referral. I still haven't heard from them. Over two weeks now.
Dr. Peterson was highly educated in my conditions! She took time to make me feel comfortable! She made sure I understood any tests, procedures & diagnoses! She is kind, caring & understanding! I would highly recommend Dr. Peterson!!! Only downfall'I wish there was 2 of her! She's Amazing!!!

Dr. Peterson is amazing and very caring. I'm very glad to have her on my team.
I have seen many GI specialists at several different teaching universities since 2005. Dr. Peterson is a shining 'North Star' of all of the GI professionals I have ever been treated by. I am grateful for her sensitivity, compassion, impressive knowledge and open mindedness in my the treatments and diagnosis of my GI disorders.
Kathy is absolutely wonderful. She cares about me specifically, and that's very apparent. It wonderful to have a doctor who specializes in my condition and actively participates in research efforts about it.
Dr. Peterson is the absolutely best specialist I have. She cares about my health and its particular rare problems. She told me she won't give up until she can find a diagnosis. I really appreciate her.
Dr. Peterson performed my recent GI procedures and provided immediate feedback (personally and then timely posted in MyChart). Besides her knowledge and strong technical skills as a physician, Dr. Peterson knows how to discuss health issues with a patient. She is interactive in her approach and involved me in decisions that impact my long-term health. I wasn't just told to ¿take this and that medication¿, but she took time to discuss what she felt is best in my circumstance and why. he was communicative with me and made sure I had my follow-up appointment scheduled so she could complete this step in my treatment. I appreciate the friendly and professional way Dr. Peterson interacts with me and answers all of my questions without me feeling rushed. I wish her style could be carbon-copied with more physicians, but I think her strong interpersonal skills are just characteristics that define who she is.
I felt so listened to, cared about, and "in charge" about my care and treatment options.
Dr. Peterson is great!
I was supposed to get ENT referral. I still haven't heard from them. Over two weeks now.

Dr. Peterson is one of the most extraordinary providers I have ever had , her kindness and compassion was apparent from the first few minutes of our conversation. It was such a relief to talk with her and for her to make me feel like I wasn't going crazy. I just love and appreciate her so much .
Dr. Peterson is the best doctor I have ever come across. she takes medicine a step further and goes from being a doc to a healer. I can honestly say the U of U GI clinic and Dr Peterson are the only professionals that make me feel comfortable with the unknown. When you live with unparalleled illness and misunderstood diseases of pain, doctors like the ones you find at the GI clinic save lives and keep you going. Im alive because of the extra steps and validation taken to better patients lives and the incorperating of the patients needs and thoughts is unmatched. Dr. Peterson is a blessing to medicine.
