His clinical interests and expertise are in regional anesthesia and acute pain management, processed electroencephalogram monitoring, and neuromuscular blockade monitoring. His research interests are in genetics and epigenetics of pain, clinical pharmacology, and medical device development. His education interests are in simulation based experiential learning for medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty. His professional activities include service as an editorial boards for Anesthesia and Analgesia and the American Society of Anesthesiologists Simulation Education and as a standardize oral board examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology.
