Laura D. Wood, PA-C, MPAS

Languages spoken: English, Spanish
  • Laura has been a Physician Assistant since 2007, graduating from Wichita State University in Kansas. She has worked at the University of Utah Hospital for the entirety of her career starting with Cardiothoracic Surgery for 1 year, Vascular Surgery for 6 years and currently with Orthopaedic Surgery with the Adult Joint Reconstruction Team. She is thrilled about being a part of the care of Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction patients and working with the Department of Orthopaedics. Her favorite part of treating patients is seeing them throughout their complete treatment course: clinically before surgery, during the surgery and the hospital stay, and post operatively as they make their way back to their active and functional life style.

Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Laura was born and raised in San Diego, California. She went to Kansas State University where she played Women's Volleyball and was a part of the Big 12 Championship Team in 2003. She loves being in the Wasatch Mountains: trail running, skiing and biking and being with her family.

I felt as if the PA was talking me out of surgery and her comments when asking about cancellations was unnecessary.
