  • Laura Johnson is a nurse practitioner at the University of Utah Farmington clinic within the division of Gastroenterology (GI) and Hepatology specializing in diagnosing and treating general GI concerns such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), among others.

Laura has been in healthcare for over 15 years but began her nursing career in 2011, working primarily in women’s health and pediatrics. In her time at Primary Children's Hospital, she worked as a circulator in the endoscopy department where she gained a fundamental background in procedural GI care. Laura is passionate about educating, empowering and engaging her patients in their health journey. As a member of the American College of Gastroenterologists, she attends annual classes and conferences to continue learning and keep up with current evidence-based care standards. When not caring for her patients at the University of Utah, she enjoys traveling around the U.S. and the world, kayaking, playing pickleball and working in her yard and garden. She is an avid baseball fan as well and tries to catch as many games in person as she can. Go Dodgers!

Laura E Johnson, APRN, was so smart, so intuitive, so informed, and she has a great ¿bedside¿ manner during virtual visits. She was so thorough in her explanations! She believes in empowering her patients to be a little better, not to try to be perfect, and recognizes the health value in educating individual patients. I was so impressed.

I'm very happy to have been seen by Laura Johnson. I had pretty much given up that there would be a solution to the issues that I have been dealing with daily for over a year. Laura was friendly and took the time to listen and explain to me what could be going on with my issues and possible remedies. I don't feel like I was hurried which was very comforting. Now I have a way forward where previously, I was having some anxiety that my issues would be something I'd have to live with. I really appreciate her thoroughness and her expertise. I would highly recommend her!
