  • Lillian Khor received her medical degree (M.B.BCh., BAO) from the National University of Ireland in 1997 and her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2000. She completed her Internal Medicine Internship and Residency, Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship, and master’s in clinical Investigation at the University of Utah. During this time, she served as Chief Medical Resident of the Coronary Care Unit at LDS Hospital and Chief Fellow in Cardiovascular Medicine. She has been faculty at both the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center and the University of Utah Health Hospital and Clinics since 2007. Her leadership roles include Medical Directorship of the Telemetry, Coronary Care Unit, and Cardiovascular Clinics at the VA Medical Center (2007-2010) and Medical Directorship of Preventive Cardiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation (2010-2023). Her clinical practice is at the VA Medical Center, where she is engaged in clinical trials, quality improvement, and educational projects with Point of Care Ultrasound.

    She has published on the gender and age-related differences in the prognostic value of a biomarker (C-reactive protein) and on the use of Point-of Care Ultrasound in the assessment of heart failure. She is passionate about community education and has volunteered her services as past President of the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Board of Directors (2010-2014), Co-Principal Investigator for a grant called “Heartwise 9-1-1” to increase awareness of heart attack symptoms in women, and regular TV and radio show interviews in English and Spanish. As a Master Clinician Observer for the School of Medicine, she emphasizes humanism and empathy to optimize diagnosis and rapport within the practice of medicine. Her clinical and research interests are in obesity-associated heart failure and non-invasive assessment of elevated intra-cardiac pressure. In her multiple roles as clinician, educator, administrator, researcher, and mentor she promotes and practices wellness through exercise, healthy gastronomy, and laughter.

    Dr Khor did not listen to me. I struggle with self esteem. When I left the appointment I felt trashed and worthless.

    Dr. Khor was very thorough as she asked a lot of questions. Her physical exam was also quite thorough. Her online report was very thorough and detailed. I could understand most of it.

    Dr. Khor listened to my symptoms and prescribed a medication that is treating the problem. She is excellent in listening and answering questions. She always makes me feel very important and puts me at ease.
