May 02, 2024UH HOSPITALS AND CLINICSI found Dr Petty to be personable and in line with current guidelines from the ADA. He was the first Dr in 30+ years to ask me how I achieved my near normal blood sugar control for type 1 diabetes. The answer for me was to restrict carbohydrates to less than 50 grams per day. Low carb high fat and protein. I found the insulin balanced with carbs and exercise formula game with a lot of effort for very poor results. ADA needs to drop the idea that eating 140 plus grams of carbs can achieve. Near normal blood sugars. I had to discover this on my own, on YouTube, without any help and much bad advice from highly trained experts.
