Promptly made a referral the same day. Kind, understanding and thoughtful considering my stage 4 cancer diagnosis and how that would affect decisions about the procedure we were seeking!!! Highly recommend and would gladly have him preform a procedure if that¿s what we choose.

He really listened to me, answered my questions and was honest when he didn't have an answer, yet cared enough to dig deeper to find answers. He was personable, friendly and ready to help.

January 13, 2024UH HOSPITALS AND CLINICSDr Gessel is an excellent GI Specialist.Without his guidance the possible source of my abdominal pain would not have been found. I am extremely grateful for his through evaluation and follow up care.
November 14, 2023UH HOSPITALS AND CLINICSGreat doctor
November 12, 2023UH HOSPITALS AND CLINICSDr. Gessel is one of the few doctors who actually listens carefully to what you tell him and comprehends what has been discussed. He looks at the whole person instead of just passing your problems off to a different specialist. If a question isn't in his area of expertise, he'll admit it but help if he can. He is cautious with his recommendations to not overly expose a patient to harmful tests or medications unless he feels they are warranted. I'm grateful to have him as my doctor.
