Dr Young is very knowledgeable and I am always impressed with how she is able to accurately determine vision needs for my non-verbal two year old. She does not spend more time than necessary in the office with you but maybe that is a good thing with our case not being overly serious.

I know different reviews state that Dr. Young moves/talks fast and doesnt explain things but I will tell you, she moves fast to work with kids and their attention span and because of her schedule. She is so efficient and did a great job with my 2 year old. She and her staff together are a well oiled machine. She answered all my questions and more. She even showed us and allowed us to look at how she was able to determine my daughters eye rx. She explained reasoning behind her thinking and treatment. She does tend to speak quickly but she makes sure you understand what she said. Her staff was great! I highly recommend Dr. Young.
Dr. Young is why we keep coming back. She's been so good with our daughter that our daughter actually looks forward to her appointments. Dr. Young is professional and very knowledgeable. We've been thrilled with her delivery of care the past 3 years.

She is an amazing provider. We have been seeing her for the past 5 years. She is excellent with going kids. She provided treatment options and we could choose what was best for our family. We patched which has allowed us to avoid glasses.
Dr. Young is so personable and easy to talk to. She is so capable and competent at her work, I completely trust her when she is looking at my kids¿ eyes. She was able to diagnose a condition in my son's eyes that had flummoxed two other eye doctors.

I was traveling to Utah to get a second opinion about my daughter's eyes because Dr. Young had been recommended to me. I was so impressed with her. We had come from a provider who didn't really explain a lot of things, always seemed in a rush, and during each visit had a different plan for my daughter. Both providers diagnosed my daughter with the same condition, but Dr. Young actually explained what it meant for her now and in the long term, and went over a plan for helping her over the years.
I felt there was more concerns going on with my child that weren't communicated. Instead we were referred to a specialist
Dr was extremely nice and worked well with my son. He was never fearful. One thing tho. I have no idea what is wrong with his eyes besides she thinks he will grow out of it. She was in and out. I heard the word astigmatism but nothing about the degree of which his eyes weren't 20/20. She does want to see him again in a year so I guess I will find out then. I just figured I'd get it written on paper or something.
We love Dr Young. She works quickly and efficiently but does a great job. She remembers details about her patient's history and is aware of what is needed. I like her decisive nature.

We have been going to Dr Young since my daughter was 11 months old. Dr Young has done 2 surgeries. We have absolutely loved her. She is knowledgeable and always listens to my input on treatment. She takes time to speak with my daughter so she isn't afraid of her appts. That is impressive since my daughter is now 3.

Our daughter has been seeing Dr Young for 9 years and we have never had a bad visit. Dr Young treats her like she is the most important person at that time and always asks her opinion about her eyes and not just mom and dad. She has done so much for our daughter and we are thankful for her.

I marked Good instead of Very Good for the following reason. As a patient, visiting a surgeon, I was nervous. When I am nervous, I don't think as quickly. To me it seemed the doctor rushed through everything and my brain was trying to keep up with her. I personally need more explanation as to what is going on, what she is doing, if the measurements taken of my eye were the same as when another doctor measured them, etc.
Dr Young was very nice but when she first came in she seemed very rushed. She didn't even say hello before examining my son immediately. She seemed like she was too busy to talk. She was great with my son but I wish she would have taken more time to talk to me about the diagnosis, treatment, etc.

Dr Payne was knowledgeable and quickly assessed my two year old's problem, which was a concern since he is not very verbal. She did not spend a lot of time explaining things to me or answering questions but did send us home with a printout that answered a lot of my questions.
The provider was late to work because of a car wreck and I understand that. But the problem was she rushed in quickly check my child's eyes and moved on. She didn't ask if we questions, assumed we were there for one thing and we weren't. She didn't care about us or my child.
We felt this provider was extremely impersonal. She did not talk directly to us, she did not talk to my child, and she spoke at a loud volume as if we were deaf. She kept us waiting multiple times without any information or explanation as to why. We won't be bringing our child back.

The doctor did not introduce herself, never even made eye contact. Just came and started a rushed, silent eye exam on my daughter. It actually took me a minute to figure out that she was the doctor. She spoke enough to do the eye exam, seemed very rushed, only whispered her findings to her assistant. It was a very cold, and frankly, odd interaction.
Dr. Young is a wonderful doctor! Medically compete, highly recommended and respected by other medical professionals. She has a great way in working with and relating to patients. I would endorse her highly. 5-stars++
Seemed intelligent. Was quick in speech though, almost rushed. She did tell me she would keep me informed on any new developments in the research industry on my son's condition.
I've told her twice now about my son having an eye that crosses in and that it is getting worse to the point it now crosses outward as well. The first time she didn't really try to see what I was telling her about and brushed it off as something else. This time I showed her pictures of exactly what was happening and all she did was say "hmmm... interesting" and then gave us a Rx for glasses saying that maybe not seeing as well was the reason it had become worse. I was disappointed that she didn't take it more seriously. My son is insecure about his eyes crossing because he says kids "get freaked out".
It just would have been nice to get more exact terms on what is going on with my son.

I'm glad I was referred to Dr. Young. She took the time to thoroughly examine my eyes and explain my issue. For the first time in years, I feel like I have answers! I'm excited to find a doctor who believes in me and has started me on the road to a possible solution.
Dr Young was beyond exemplary! I was very excited to have the procedure we examined for, however we drove over 2 hours and found out after that our insurance was not accepted. I did the online paperwork so it was known ahead what insurance we carried. I hope in the future the staff looks deeper and let's the person know is covered or not. Thanks and I'm truly sorry she cannot do my procedure! She was wonderful!
She was very knowledgeable and did a thorough job of evaluating my child. I appreciated that. And I did appreciate her answers to my questions about the accuracy of her initial prescription and how important it is that I have her wear them day and night. I didn't know who all the team members were that came into the evaluation and it seems like they were students learning on the job. I would have liked to have been introduced to them so I knew what their roles were. I also wish I had more ideas with the Dr on how to fit the glasses better onto her face, especially since the person Julie wasn't able to help me.
I was just very impressed with the care given to my grandson, I am confident in her treating [NAME REMOVED] if he needs further eye care.

I found Dr. Young to be extremely competent, human, and friendly. She explained the surgery to me to my satisfaction, and even laughed when I suggested she might be too young to be an MD! She is very personable while being very competent and when I asked about her training ( something I'm afraid I almost always ask doctors!) willingly told me where she had studied. I appreciate knowing that background very much. She made me trust her ability to solve my eye problem because of her explanations of the procedure. Dr Young has been our primary dr for my son's eyes since he developed crossed eyes at age 3.5. She is always thorough and professional. She is very good at what she does and doesn't make you wait. She really cares and my son has had straight eyes since his surgery and doing great. I definitely recommend her!
I felt like the doctor was a bit in a rush. I was given a prescription for glasses for my son and then quickly given a different one, and I was a bit confused about that, and wondered if it was accurate. I left confused and frustrated.
it was honestly a very Trumatic experience for me and my daughter. We never been to the eye doctor before, and I thought it would be more kid friendly because it was primary Children's Hospital.

I loved working with Dr. Young. She was great with my son. I was worried about the fact my son was so young, under 2, but everyone was so great with him.

The provider seemed very good, Dr. Young. However, I did not appreciate how quickly she came in to the room, she spent no time getting to know my son. He has been through a LOT and is very distrustful of doctors and hospitals right now. I would have liked for her to come in, introduce herself and get to know my son a bit better, instead she just knelt down and started looking at my sons "problem" (his inward turned eye). I felt like this was not the right approach for my son and kids in general, especially for a pediatric ophthalmologist.

We've seen Dr. Young twice and will not be seeing her again. The second time we came in it was like she didn't even remember or review our previous visit even though we were there for a follow up. Comments she mad and things I had to remind her about made it obvious she didn't take the time or effort in either of our visits to be care about my child or what we had come in for. Extremely disappointed in their care we received from Dr. Young if care is even what you could call it. I would 100% recommend trying a different provider over her.

We love Dr. Young. She always listens and is so good at encouraging my daughter during appointments. She is kind and thoughtful. She has gone out of her way to make my daughter feel comfortable. She explains unknown equipment, lets her touch things, look at things and praises her when she is doing well answering questions and being cooperative. My daughter feels Dr. Young cares about her and helps her to see the best that she can even with her ongoing eye issues.
I found this doctor to be very able to diagnose my need and make an appropriate surgical plan. She was very able to identify my problem and the solution. We did make one mistake, however, in canceling the follow- up appointment the day after surgery for possible adjustments so I am having a second surgery. But this surgery is not a difficult recovery and I do need the problem fixed so I am having the second surgery with the follow up appointment the next day. Dr. Young seems well prepared to be able to resolve my issue.
Didn't love being left to wait in the exam room with my 3yo special needs son for 45 minutes. It was terrible.
