Patient Rating
Patients most often praise Dr. Seay for her expertise, thoroughness, and ability to diagnose and manage complex neuro-ophthalmic issues, including clear reviews of imaging and medication adjustments. Many report that she listens, gives understandable explanations, is kind or supportive, and uses the patient portal for follow-up; several comments also note skilled and helpful assistants or trainees. A minority describe a cold or abrupt bedside manner, feeling spoken to rather than directly engaged or that communication accommodations were lacking; overall ratings are strongly positive.

The whole process went well
She was so thorough and unhurried and professional
Not beneficial at all
I would highly recommend her. She did not rush the appointment. She explained all procedures. She addressed all my concerns. Her office staff were also incredibly caring. A great experience.
Communicates well. Very caring.
knowledgeable and showed some curiosity about what caused condition.
Quick to keep us informed and looking into all avenues of testing and diagnostics

Dr. Seay was very thorough and very congenial.
Very compassionate and professional
Dr. Penteado was excellent. She explains conditions we want to avoid, and she gives helpful advice on future care. Excellent, pro-active carer.
Very attentive to her patients
Very friendly and helpful
It was hard to get transportation to come but ultimately the perfect place to be! I would highly recommend Dr Seay and the Moran eye center!
Very good customer service and care
She was very friendly and knowledgeable. Took the time to listen and explain to us our concerns. Would recommend anyone who see her.
I highly recommend Dr. Seay's extremely professional and meticulous patient care
Professional evaluation and care were outstanding.
A great professional
Easy to talk to, listens attentively , explains in terms that are easily understood. Makes you feel comfortable throughout your experience.
Very friendly and patient. Really giving me the attention to all the details to be sure I get the best care.
Very professional and took the time to answer my questions and explain things to me so I understood what was going on.
Dr. Seay is a warm, kind & caring individual. She has the expertise to know the condition I suffer from and give me the most current knowledge about it. She also told me if I have further questions to send her a message in My Chart and she would get back with me, so that's reassuring to be able to be heard & be able to question things that a profession might have answers for. She & her staff are top notch!
I am sure she is very brilliant as a neuro ophthalmologist, all the doctors at U of U are. However she is lacking in patient social skills.
I feel like my health problem is being properly addressed. It's a good feeling and makes my visits from out of state worthwhile.
Provider is a good listener and patient to answer my questions. She was attentive and knowledgeable.
She listened to me and studied it out. Then explained what my tests say.
Very professional, easy to talk to
Staff was good. Doctor was late. Over an hour and a half. Had to leave, no RX for eyes. Overall a waste of MY time. And Co-pay.
Dr Seay, is a great Dr. very thorough and kind. I have all the trust in her and felt lucky to be under her care.
explained the circumstances and was knowledgeable about.
Very competent and through
Very knowledge
Dr. Seay was much more thorough than a Neurologist I had previously seen and actually cared to explain things to me!
Dr. Seay is always professional, friendly and genuinely shows she cares. Answers any questions I may have so I understand my care.
She ROCKS. SO SMART!!
She's polite and I'm sure she does well with her specific specialty, but it would've gone a long way for her to apologize that the clinic itself should've never let me schedule with her. It was very clear that I was not supposed to be seeing her, but they proceeded with the whole appointment that I now have to pay for.
She is an amazing Dr. She explained everything to me with courtesy. All my questions about my past medical results were answered and explained to me very well. She is an expert in her job
Knowledgeable brilliant doctor!
Meagan Seay is a rock star in our opinion. She found an error in an MRI reading from the main hospital downtown. She is professional, compassionate, and brilliant. I found her to be humble and very down to earth. I loved her!
Dr Seay specializes in the condition I have with my eye sight and as such, give relevant and applicable advice. She listens to my concerns and gives me options to chose. She shows empathy toward me.
I appreciate having the rare opportunity for Neuro Ophthalmology treatment from University of Utah Healthcate.
DR Megan Seay and her nurse with a student DR Patel all of them gave me great examinations that got to my DR concerns thank you to all great job well done.
She is very clear and organized. She explains things in detail and makes it easy to understand.
Dr. Seay is a great doctor.
Dr Seay obviously knows what she's doing and has a high level of expertise. BUT ALSO she knows how to listen well, reflect back, and look through all the evidence to come to an educated conclusion. I can't believe it took me so long to get this kind of help but I'm very glad I finally met Dr. Seay and her team so I could get what I needed which was respectful listening, a diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Seay took the time to actually view diagnostic imaging with me. She discovered an error on the imaging report and gave me an accurate diagnoses. Unfortunately, thats something other doctors did not do.
I would see Dr. Seay again because she has a neurology background and with that knowledge she was able to explain things to me that made sense and helped my concerns.
I highly recommend Dr Seay, she seems to genuinely care for her patients.
I would definately recommend her to others.
Meagan was direct but very professional. I liked how she evaluated my situation.
Dr. Megan is highly professional, supportive and kind. She advised evidence based conservative and supportive treatment for complex visual concerns involving brain-optic nerve pathways. Benefited from their care and kindness and very grateful for her foresight and support thru recovery journey. She is mature and listens carefully to any concerns and clearly confirms or rejects any hypothesis/symptoms based on what i described and set a good long term recovery plan.
Dr. Seay is awesome. She does a good job at explaining things. I came in for a check up, I was told it would take one hour. I walked out of the office almost three hours later with no update, zero communication from anyone this entire time. Dr. Seay good, Moran eye center BAD.
Dr. Meagan Seay is quite thorough asking questions and reviewing when asked. Clarifications given freely and when I have need of them. She pushed things along when needs arise. The portal plays an important part for both of us. Love this system. Helps to prepare for upcoming visits and for my review. There is a noticeable difference between a Family Ophthalmologist and a specialized Neuro Ophthalmology skills.
Of 3 neurologists working on my issue, Meagan was the one who had the correct diagnosis and the others agreed with her suggested course of action, which was surgery is not necessary. And we are talking about a brain tumor.
A very skilled and helpful doctor who tried her absolute best to give the best care. Very thankful for the help I received in that clinic
Dr Seay listened to my concerns and explained why she has prescribed the next steps in our investigation.
Dr. Seay is excellent at answering my questions and explaining things relative to my diagnosis and care. She is caring, calm and efficient. I feel like I am in very good hands!
Great doctor with the best attitude helping with patients
Very professional
She was knowledgeable and explained things clearly. I appreciated that she consulted with other doctors as well.
She was simply awesome. Best eye doctor I have ever seen
Dr Seay was very professional and kind. She answered all of my questions and I left my appointment feeling like all of my concerns were addressed thoroughly.
She was absolutely the best. Explain to me everything I needed to know and answered every question I had. I highly recommend her everybody.
I never felt rushed. Dr. was very helpful.
She was kind and very helpful. I liked her peaceful demeanor. She explained everything in a way that I could understand.
I was very pleased that the two MRI's during the last 6 months were shown to me to see the difference. A full eye exam was done to pinpoint the improvements. I was very happy to discover them. Dr. Seay is the first Neuro Ophthalmologist I have ever seen. So much more precise! I appreciate her manner and information delivery, professional and friendly.
It was a pleasure working with Dr. Seay. I was very concerned about my future when we met, and she was very kind and encouraging, as well as thorough and thoughtful.
She is soft-spoken, patient and no-nonsense direct. I trust her.
DrSeay does not have compassion for patients. She does not listen.
I feel very comfortable with Dr, Seay. She is competent and very easy to talk with.
Very professional and proficient
Appointments, Dr. Seay and staff prompt and professional, friendly in manner and covered questions nicely. Direct and clear when needed for emphasis.
She was very kind, patient and thorough.
I found her extremely knowledgeable, serious, caring. Glad to have her working on my vision problem!
Shes a wonderful doctor. She told me things my local doctor wasnt qualified to know. So relieved to have answers. Her resident doctor was awesome too. Very positive experience.
She was very good! Explaining and letting me help with the decision for my treatment
She was incredibly helpful in explaining where my eyes were medically. What test were needed and why as well as how she would follow up with me once test results were in.
Dr. Seay is always professional, friendly and helpful and explains things in lamens terms so you understand. Shows genuine concern for me (the patient).
Dr. Seay is a caring, skilled, intelligent and knowledgeable doctor. She diagnosed the cause of my headaches when other doctors could not. I am very happy that she is my doctor treating my health issues.
She walked me though what was going on. We looked at previous data and she was very good about explaining the changes. She answered all of my questions and gave me options about my future care.
one hour late
She was great.? Very perfessional.
She was able diagnose my problem.
Dr Seay was the best part of the appointment. She addressed my needs and after waiting thru many strange tests - she came in and finished up and gave me what info I needed.
I have landed the best doctor at Moran.
Concerned , explained in laymans terms, very knowledgeable .
Very thorough.
Dr. Seay was thorough. She helped me to understand what was going on with my vision, which is much appreciated.
Exceptional provider: caring, knowledgeable, ensured all my questions were answered and she was very responsive to my needs.
She was spot on with the trial of prisms. Good listener and very bright.
She really wasnt able to determine what was wrong but she was fine with that it seemed.
I appreciated her candor and expertise.
Seemed to want my input, and answered all my questions and concerns
Nice person, and caring doctor.
She is very kind, considerable, & seems very knowledgeable. She was confident and made me feel comfortable with her care.
Highly competent, thorough, and helpful
Explained the source of my problem and treatment. Gave me a hand out to read which was very helpful
Great at explaining plan of care for my diagnosis and follow-up. Empathic towards me and my feelings and concerns moving forward.
Dr Seay was through, kind and very knowledgeable. I feel comfortable in her care.
De Seay projects serious competence combined with a thoroughness I haven't seen in a physician in a long time. Exactly what I was hoping for.
Letting me understand exactly what's wrong with my vision and helping me take step by step until she gets the help that I need to get my vision back. Everyone involved is a blessing for me. Thank you.
She was very thorough in her examination, explained everything and answered all my questions.
Doctor was very knowledgeable and genuinely concerned about my condition. Her assistant before I was finally seen by her was also very skilled, asked intelligent questions and took enough time to go over my documents and blood work, MRI scans and other tests from other providers. I was also happy that they did the visual field test which was better than I've expected. Doctor carefully examined my eyes and I felt I was in good hands with her. She also had a peaceful and kind demeanor about her, which is very important to me. I didn't want a doctor who was cruel and dry like a robot. This doctor is genuinely a good human being and I really appreciated her care given to me.
Her bedside manner was detached and unempathetic. Before getting an MRI, she told me between 5 and 7 times that I could have MS. Most of the appointment felt like a classroom where she was explaining my eye condition to the resident, but minimally explained to me.
Dr Seay has listened & answered my questions. She looks at the results of the tests with me right there and explains the results to me. I would recommend others to her.
Excellent excellent excellent
She was very kind, listened to my concerns, and explained the plan of action.
Dr. Seay is very knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend her to anyone that needs to see a neuro-opthalmologist.
She was awesome
She is a caring ,competent Doctor
Shes smart, thorough, interested, caring, informative. It cant be better.
Dr. Seay is professional and friendly and easy to get honest answers from.
Wonderful doctor, so glad I was referred to her!
She is great! Honest, expressed any concerns or things to watch for and answered questions I had and I understand what is going on with my situation.
Ordered and explained multiple tests.
Dr. Seay was very pleasant. friendly. She answered our questions and made a feel comfortable.
It was very good to have her as my eye Dr. And recommend her to anybody that has vision issues.
Very helpful
She is very thorough and professional. She doesn't appear to be in a hurry, which makes me feel like she is concerned about my condition and committed to finding results.
Dr Seay was professional and courteous and answered my questions. I need further testing and she explained all that. I feel confident in her ability to treat me.
Always shows concern. Offers other options if available. Always makes you feel like you're doing well.
Always shows concern. Offers other options if available. Always makes you feel like you're doing well.
Should have been told how expensive the blood test was from the Mayo Clinic! $1600.00! Still think you're the best!!
Should have been told how expensive the blood test was from the Mayo Clinic! $1600.00! Still think you're the best!!
She was wonderful ( Dr Seay)
Not sure if she conducted the proper exams to help determine whether I have MSA or not. This was the reason for the referral.
Dr. Seay is great!
The physician and the PA were unwilling to explain results of the exams. The physician would not explain the reasoning for the recommendations. The did not ask if I had any questions.
Thanks to the Doctor and the PA I felt very confident with the data they shared with me and how they went into detail about what happened the next steps - thank you!
Good
Very professional
I was never told if they found any issues. There were no suggestions given for the issues I am experiencing, and dr saey said someone would call for additional testing which didn't happen. She was dry, unkind, and didn't provide any information for the issues I was having.
Best doctor ever
A good full discussion.
Provided excellent care including patiently and clearly explaining her diagnosis and next steps
Love Dr Seay
This was one of the best clinic visits I have had in awhile.
I think her was diagnosis was correct and reassuring but she didn't address or talk to me about other symptoms that were related for example pain in eye, how the slow eye movement was related to diagnoses. She was a very good listener.
Megan is very helpful in understanding my concerns and gives me a great suggestion! I will refer her to my family members for sure!
Dr Seay is a caring, professional and he Guly skilled dr. She discusses her plan, gains feedback from me & we concur about the plan to follow.
This provider was one of the absolute worst that I have seen in the U system. She was rough and abrasive with me during her exam and seemed to act like she felt I was wasting her time. This provider used a harsh and derogatory tone toward me during our visit. She gave me a stack of papers to read with diagnostic information even though I informed her that I often have trouble with reading and I am dyslexic. This provider did very little to try to put me at ease or to make sure that I understood what was going on. I would never recommend this provider to anyone and I would actively encourage others to find someone else within this specialty. By the end of this interaction, I was afraid to ask this provider any questions or to express any of my concerns. I have had so many phenomenal care providers in the U system, and Dr Seay is DEFINITELY not one of them. It's so disappointing to see how she treats her patients.
Good experience
Eric was exceptionally informative. Asked many questions and listened to all I had to say. Showed genuine concern for how I was feeling. Gave an excellent summary of the timeline of events and outcomes to the doctor. Helped me with the anxiety I was feeling with his bedside manner.
No problems or concerns.
Dr.Seay and her resident were very thorough in their exams and explained the purpose of each at my request. They were professional, caring about my concerns and involving me in decisions. As a result, I have been set up for a blood draw and MRI.
The Doctor spent the time to do the tests. The Doctor gave me every test and some that had already been given.
EXCELLENT,PLEASED. FELT HOPE FOR MY CONDITION. THIS WAS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I EXPERIENCED FROM THE RETINA ASSOC. AND ERIC BRITTON, MD AT THE IMC, MURRAY, UTAH
Dr. Seay changed my life in the best way! She gave me concrete answers and a plan to move forward. Priceless.
The best experience I've had with a doctor in my entire life. No lie, I have been so impressed.
Great attention and concerns
I'm waiting for a call to set up an MRI
I was very confident in her advice and care plan. I was also happy with her concern and willingness to listen to me to understand what my symptoms were.
Dr. Seay is extraordinary. I feel very heard and seen when I am with her. She celebrates my successes and helped me navigate through major adjustments. I really value her judgement. She makes it a pleasant experience and brings the humanity back to medicine.
I was impressed that she could diagnose my problem by looking at my eyes over Zoom.
Like I said I just didn't understand why I had to wait for the Dr.
Unware if seeing 2 doctors
Left scheduling of mri to co. Calling me rather than doing it right there while bbn I was there in office
I was dilated and had a hard time focusing.
Dr.Seay and her TWO assistants were so good and so thorough, kind and professional. Remarkable!
Thoroughly explained any changes, issues, and expectations.
Dr. Seay answered my questions and explained the test results as they affect my vision.
My issues, a spot in my right eye and headaches, were discussed without solving or correcting my problems. A series of possible solutions were suggested.
I really enjoy seeing Dr. Seay
Dr. Seay was exceptional in every way!
Superb care by all involved.
Dr. Seay is always very detailed in the information she gives me about my current situation. My progress. And the future course of action.
Dr Seay explained everything well and answered all my questions. She made me feel calm and less worried.
Being seen by Dr.s Seay and Kennedy made the 1,000 mile drive worthwhile.
Irena, Dr. Seay's PA, was INCREDIBLE! She was kind, caring and so helpful! She was delightful and so helpful!
I had to ask what this all meant and her opinion.
Dr. Seay was very good. I appreciated her expertise in informing me of my test results. I would highly recommend her.
Very disregarded.
All is awesome
I was told I would be there 3-4 hours for testing etc. I saw provider for less than an hour. Concerns expressed were not addressed or answered. I didn't feel I got any information that was helpful to persistent motion problems and difficulties with reading.
There really were no options.
Very good experience.
Excellent
The fellow was amazing! She took the time to discuss everything. The provider was knowledgeable but she seemed rushed.
Good
very nice staff. Dr Seay is professional, kind, thorough, informative.
it continues to be unclear what is causing the visual problem, but the doctor tells me it's not a big concern.
Very through and caring. Very in depth look at my issue
excellent staff
I appreciated the doctors information, she went over many things with me including stuff just from my regular neurologist and explained them to me and showed me the exams and the MRI. I really appreciated everything she did
Dr. Seay is great!! She takes the time to explain everything and shows she really cares about your eyes.

The amount of time the doctors and the assistant spent with me was truly exceptional. I left my visit armed with real solutions to my problem and knowledge of how to proceed.. I am truly grateful for the knowledge and expertise they shared with me and the amount of care shown.
Great
There was no follow up required, but the doctor did a great job listening to my concerns and explaining things.
The appointment felt off as if it was an interrogation. It felt like my current diagnoses were being questioned which was not the intent of the visit.
It was extremely frustrating to me that Dr Seay did not take the time to review my chart before coming in, especially after having waited so long for her to come in the room. she showed very little concern and was not personable at all. She did not know anything about my case.
Everyone was very friendly except Dr Seay. The nurse that took me back to the room, the intern that came in were exceptional. The doctor came in for a brief visit and said nice to meet you. She didn't introduce herself or acknowledge me by name. she seemed very cold. I had just been through a horrific accident and she didn't acknowledge that at all or even seem to care. she spoke mostly to to the intern did her quick exam. Not a doctor who I feel comfortable with or even feel like she cared. No bedside manner.
still not exactly sure what is causing pain or how to treat, but they checked everything so I am happy to know they did not find anything concerning.
great experience from all the Drs!!
There were 3 providers in the room. It seemed like a lot, but they were calm and organized.
The resident was quick and efficient in taking notes regarding my issue. The doctor was also efficient but didn't seem to be very concerned about my problem.
Dr. Seay was extremely attentive to my medical situation.
I felt safe and cared for and it was a very professional environment.
We didn't come to any conclusions about cause, but it wasn't for lack of trying.
very good
Dr Seay was excellent
excellent
Not a very good experience. The doctor didn't spend much time with me and didn't seem especially interested in any of my problems.......nor did she encourage me or imply that I may get a little better with exercise and/or physical therapy. She did recommend PT. She didn't ask about my health history form (which she never saw).
Still waiting to hear back about when labs need to be done.
MA and fellow were both so great.
The resident doctor working under Dr. Sea did a phenomenal job. Not only did she review his history prior to asking questions, she had a great bedside manner and was concerned about his comfort in the exam. This is a great compliment considering how many doctors we see due to his chronic migraines.
I had been to several specialists about my condition who refused or couldnt treat me. My current doctor was not completely treating me or listening to me. I was a hot mess and Dr Seay got me in asap and jumped into action to get my condition under control and save my vision. She also changed my medication. The medicine I was on was making me so sick and I was so miserable, I was suicidal. Dr Seay saved my life and gave me my life back.
I didn't ask too many questions, but when I got home I had questions. I didn't ask what will need to be done if the test is positive.
As this was my first encounter with Dr. Seay I found it disconcerting that upon entering the room she directed all of her questions to the PA regarding the reason for my appointment, what led to the episodes and the testing of the eyes thus far. I felt that that the PA was far too removed from the emotional aspect of the experiences and left out some crucial and descriptive information that was involved during the episodes of double vision and gradual blindness. It wasn't until after much of the testing had been completed that she addressed me with results and explanation of the various tests with a recommendation for a MRI and CatScan at my own healthcare center. Perhaps this is her style but I am accustomed to being more engaged and am highly pro-active in my own healthcare. Now that I have seen her "style" with patients I will know what to expect in the future as I do value her as a trustworthy physician and specialist in her chosen field. And more importantly for relieving some of the incredible stress that I had been under not knowing the cause of the episodes of the eyes. I still don't know and the stress is still there but at least I had a specialist reassure me that my eyes were not the source of the problem. So onward we go.
great
Dr. Seay is very knowledgeable. She isn't very talkative, which is fine, but sometimes it feels like an interrogation instead of an appointment. I like how direct she is on what's going on with you.
couldn't have been better
Dr. Seay was great.
Dr. Seay has always been very thorough in what she is looking at/for. She provides an excellent explanation of what she is recommending and why.
doctor was very monotone and wouldnt give me any information, all she said was I dont know whats wrong with you so Im sending you somewhere else. After 5 hours of tests it would be nice for a doctor to explain something to you ! very disappointed
she was very concerned and informative and thorough!
all staff was most efficient and tried to understand my reason for being there
good experience.
