Make sure to ask her questions, as she is very fast and will skip over information she feels is irrelevant. She is very quick and to the point. Not very personable but she is not rude by any means, just very efficient.

Dr seemed to be be rushed and did not do a short exit interview
I informed her on old anxiety medication that I was prescribed that I liked. She interrupted me and went off on a tangent of who prescribed that to me ect. I felt like I did something wrong and should never ask for it. She then prescribed basically benadryl which just makes me groggy. I just felt like my opinion wasn't valid

She seems to be a good doctor but I don't understand why she is hesitant to order the colonoscopy. In fact because my acid reflux has gotten worse, I thought she might also order a scope of my throat and stomach.
Dr. Eliason was wonderful. He explained every step of the exam and helped to understand skin conditions. I felt I was in great care.

I have met with Dr. Shakeri twice now, and she has been so helpful in taking care of my health issues. She listens, explains things well, and makes sure I understand her suggestions. She is also good at making sure needed follow-ups get scheduled.
She was a poor listener, wasn't interested in listening to me, then she belittled me for having the symptoms I did and not seeking care sooner. She treated me like she wasn't interested in me or my care, or my concerns. She walked in made a snap judgement and bullied me through the rest of the appointment. The appointment was to establish care as my primary doctor and she kept asking me if I had a doctor I had seen about my symptoms. She was more interested in referring me to someone else, and treating me like an inconvenience. I waited for months to see this provider and ended up with the worst experience.

I think Dr. Shakeri was overall very pleasant and knowledgeable. The issues I had with her was that I felt judged, I answered the same questions for the 3rd time with her, she didn't ask any real questions about me other than what was required on the intake form (while she looked at the computer and asked). I think part of why this happened is because the office was so busy and everything was running late.

I would change my primary care physician if I was not happy with that individual. I have been a patient for several years and she is thorough and she takes very good care of me so far. Her staff is friendly and respectful. Dr. Shakeri is also very respectful and monitors me as a geriatric patient as to my health issues.

The doctor was very negative in communication and seem to really truly not care when I provided my blood results that had already been done as well as concerns which was the reason I was there in the 1st place. She seemed set on just doing the physical and referring me out for anything else and didn't want to talk about it. She was extremely irritated when I couldn't provide exact month and year of prior exams as if I was supposed to have that stuff memorized and it was detrimental to her. Definitely would not recommend her as a doctor her bedside manner was horrible

Okay it my first time I don't known what to expect, they should tell me more about the problem that I has.
The one issue that came up was my recurring UTIs and she referred my to gynourology and that person no longer works with the urology portion. So there were some issues with getting a urinalysis ordered and needing a different referral

I got blood work and several referrals. Two of the referrals were to surgeons. I opted for physical therapy. It would be nice to not be referred for the most extreme options.
I have ALWAYS felt completely confident with Dr. Shakeri's abilities and personal concern for my health. She is very thorough and knowledgeable in her areas. She directs me to other very competent doctors when the need arises. She keeps close attention to my health and well being. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Shakeri. My wife and I both go to her with our medical needs with mutual love and appreciation of her talents and personal concern for us!!!

I felt like I didn't have alternative options in treatment. Critical instructions for the Rx were not provided by Dr. Shakeri; I casually asked for information from the pharmacist, not expecting the exacting instructions and cautions.

Provider was nice at first however became rude mid-appointment ended, seem irritated with my health questions and concerns. She slammed the door at the end. I did not even get a chance to get all my concerns addressed(I felt rushed and not heard). I don't feel comfortable for a follow up appointment and I will probably request to follow up with a different provider next time I need to come in for an appointment.
Would recommend Dr Shakeri highly. She is exactly what I was hoping to have as primary care physician.

The doctor expressed concerns of what happened, why I didn't come to that clinic to be seen, why is no one doing more for me and then told me that I need to follow up with the orthopedic clinic as scheduled. Then, expressed the frustration that this doctor wasn't seen initially. The reason not to go to my doctor here when I was seen was, it was 9pm at night. I went to the ER room at U of U in daybreak (SOJO). I Tried to get in to this clinic, but the schedule person said the earliest was 3 weeks. Even after explaining why I needed to come. Brook my Tibual Plateau on my right leg.
The doctor was not up to the standard I expect from the University of Utah. I travel 4 hours to have all of my medical care taken care of by the U of U, because it is usually exceptionally good. The doctor rushed through my appointment, even cutting me off when describing my symptoms. Promised a referral to a psychiatrist that was never received and overall did a very inadequate job. I was so disappointed and have decided that I will need to try to find a different doctor. She was so rushed and not at all detailed. This appointment was a waste of my time, travel expenses, and I did not feel at all cared for by the doctor. Her nurse was exceptional however, and I appreciated the time she was in the room.
I just told her that I know she is doing her job. I don't agree with everything but I respect her and her knowledge. She is the best and I appreciate her so much. I hope I never have to go to another provider, that may not be realistic but that is how much I appreciate her.

I was expecting that provider will solve the issues by finding out the root cause, not the symptoms. When I said I was having numbness in my arms to hands, she said that she can have me tested for numbness. What I wanted to find out is what was causing it.
she did not want to take time to answer concerns. intact she only gave me the info on the kidney issue. entirely forgot to give me the blood analysis because she evidently was on a time schedule. I called back and was told the next day by someone from her office the blood was ok then the next day I was called to set up an apt to discuss the blood with the dr. I accepted. the apt was for 10. at 10 10 I received a call statin the doctor wanted to set an apt with which I asked what is going on. she went to see and said the dr is a bit be hind and would be calling. I really like the dr but things have chnged since I fit went there. she does not tak the time to address concerns. I am not one to need be cooled but I know when my body tells me I need to areas things. I know this last two months have been difficult for everyone but I am hoping we can get back to the relationship like it was hen I fir not to her. I hope to get my healt back. not felt good since I had a flu and I truly believe it was Corona. and your Insta Care got me on the breathing machine for 5 days and when Dr saw me she got mr on Zpak. still working to feel good. also asked about theCT scan I had taken from. fall. hope to discuss that with her in July. she said she had not seen it. really like her. Hope w can resolve som of th issues. you will see I had rated her 5 always before.

Dr Shakeri listened and heard my issues, she addressed them and immediately started getting them resolved.
I came to establish care and expected to have an assessment and discuss my history. The visit was so quick that I didn't feel like I could actually have a conversation, the doctor was still talking as she walked out and closed the door. It was not a useful visit outside of refilling some medication.
I left with many unanswered questions regarding my condition, medications, and testing. Not given option/time to ask questions.
The physician told me that I would be getting a round of tests done but did not provide any help or direction as to how to complete anything. Every comment I had wasn't directly addressed and I felt as though the doctor was not actually listening to me, but only had in mind what she was going to say next. The doctor set me up an appointment for dermatology that I did not ask for as I already have a dermatologist. I was given a sheet of information without any explanation as to how complete what was needed, and I was not given any time to ask before she left the exam room.
She didnt send the correct referral.

Dr Shakeri is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. She is thoughtful and caring of her clients. I trust her experience and expertise. There would be no better physician to be with...if I exhibited any health problems. Unfortunately, even though I should have some physical problems, I don't. Consequently the medical approach was a little too intense for me. However understandably, Dr Shakeri feels more comfortable dealing with objective data than patient's observations. I would feel more comfortable with a somewhat more equitable combination of the two.

Doctor didn't listen or ask questions just told me what I needed but not why. Seemed irritated by my questioning certain testing. I was unhappy with her not to mention she did nothing but touch my abdomen and throat. No real exam and left wondering why I bothered to schedule a physical when nothing like precious physicals took place.

She is so condescending and would ask a question and tell me why it wasn't relevent to her seeing me. The pap was more painful than just awkward. I don't think she used lube at all after I told her I am concerned about vaginal dryness being one of the two reasons I came in. Then she said at least three times how good she was and it really was not bad, right? It was really awkward not just agreeing it was fine, when it was not. Grumbling about this not being her usual clinic and having to fill in for someone.

Overall provider was good. Personally, I didn't think she actually dove into some of the issues I had discussed with the RN and that had been documented in the chart. I was never asked if there were any concerns I wanted to bring up either and didn't really get a chance to bring them up myself because provider left quickly without indicating the visit was ending. I think this might have been due to the clinic being behind on schedule though?

no communication. referral was not working and doctor was more interested in yelling at me to prove that she did, in fact, put in the referral rather than helping me figure out why the referral wasn't showing up in the system. told me multiple times to just go out of organization since it's 'hard to schedule with that department'. when I asked if she had any recommendations for going outside of organization, she looked at my sharply and snapped "you should just see whoever is covered under your insurance and is willing to see you. look it up". never called about POSITIVE test results. had to schedule this appointment for her to explain the details of my condition and test results. worst experience I've ever had in this organization, as the greenwood location usually has amazing and kind staff. Now, 8 months later, I still have a pressing health concern that I have not received care for.

Doctor Mehrnoosh Shakeri Is a Caring and Detailed Physician of Internal Medicine. Both my wife and I have worked at and retired from ARUP and went to Family Clinic over those many years. We asked for a referral when leaving and Dr. Shakeri came highly recommended from Dr. M. Who knew of her wonderful work up in Park City. We have already referred a few neighbor's, friends and Family because of our Happiness with her. All you have to do is spend a few minutes in her waiting room and notice the patients from all ages and different walks of life and see her healing influence on others. When we are in her office she is looking over our chart examining and then asking questions putting us at ease. We prefer to be very involved in our own care and Dr. Shakeri is perfect for us being partners in our care. She is very knowledgeable and a true physician of the highest order. With all the many patients she handles it is amazing how she can see us directly without waiting. Thank you.

I have only been in the U of U health system for a year, but I don't like that the provider does not review my chart before coming in to see me. We cover the same background questions every time and it's like she has never seen me before. I know all the records are on the computer so they're difficult to review before, but it would be nice if the providers could at least pretend to remember me.

since it was a new patient/physical appointment, we haven't had a chance to discuss my treatment or any changes until blood work is returned.
Dr. Shakiri is very soft spoken. With her having to wear a mask, for me, it was sometimes difficult to understand her. She did not always provide explanations for her recommendations. My audio is not very good, and I feel I need someone I can hear and understand better. I feel she is very competent, kind, and caring, but I have a hard time understanding her. She was running behind this visit due to an emergency situation so she was understandably more rushed.
Obviously without knowing the results of my labs, the doctor couldn't diagnose my issue. BUT she could of at least talked to me about my concern... maybe given some advice when I asked her why I had this reoccurring issue. I just felt like she didn't want to help and was solely relying on my results to give her an answer.

I was aware that my BP would be elevated due to some recent sad news re: a family member. I tried to explain this to the nervous woman. She wasn't interested. A few minutes later, an angry woman entered the room "ordered" the nervous woman to leave, then sat at the computer herself. I asked if she was Dr. Mehrnoosh Shakari. She said "yes". She sat at the computer, kept reading, asking me questions, BUT WHEN I TRIED TO ANSWER, SHE WOULD CUT ME OFF! AT TIMES I HAD TO ASKER TO REPEAT THE QUESTION, AND SHE BECAME ANNOYED/ANGRY. Dr. Mehnroosh Shakari actually scared me with her attitude toward me. AND SHE SEEMED MORE CONCERNED ON WHAT MY INSURANCE WOULD PAY FOR AND NOT PAY FOR. Dr. Shakari. Stood up, told me she would order a bone density screening and some lab work; she said she would schedule an appointment for One Week from 10/18/21, go to the Lab for tests, and started to walk out. I said to Dr. Shakari I have a couple of questions I want to ask you. SHE ANGRILY SAID "NO"! NO QUESTIONS! AND WALKED OUT. I was stunned! Actually Scared. A young woman came in, gave me a sheet of paper with instruction to the Lab for blood tests, and instructions for appointment for bone density tests. I went to lab as instructed, but only because I was afraid if I didn't, and I just wanted to get away from there.

Dr Shakiri has been my primary for 30+ years. she has always shown concern over my general health and is very proactive in addressing any medical concerns she or I have. She shows no hesitation in sending me to a specialist if she is unsure about any specific treatment. I retired and moved about 10 years ago and Iive 250 miles from the medical center. Had issues with a local Dr, misdiagnosed my thyroid problem. She immediately caught the discrepency upon a blood test and office visit. I have total and complete faith in her, and will continue to drive up to her for my medical care with no hesitation. She is an excellent and extremely qualified doctor who provides excellent care, projects confidence, and exhibits concern over any and all medical concerns I have.

I see Dr. Shakeri as my primary care physician, but I don't think she sees herself this way. I came with additional concerns beyond the original reason I came to see her. She referred me out to someone else, which makes sense because of the expertise of this other practitioner. However, I had hoped she would "follow" my care and see that I was taken care of. Instead she had her nurse schedule me for a follow-up 6 months from now. If she isn't the person to follow my care and ensure I'm ok, then who is? I left feeling like I had no one to advocate for me.

When I first started seeing Dr. Shakeri she would cut me off, use a very harsh tone, she would constantly tell me to SLOW DOWN when she asked me a question. On my visit before last I was explaining to Dr. Shakeri that my blood sugar looks high, but I'm always relaxed and then she started to get upset and cut me off. Well I got upset and in a very serious calm tone I said "Dr. Shakeri You Are Not Listening To Me and I'm Getting Upset" Dr. Shakeri immediately apologized and on my last visit that I saw her on August 10th she was so it was so kind and she listened to all my questions and concerns. I really appreciate that. Thank You Dr. Shakeri.
The appt. Was pretty much just to appraise my General Practitioner, concerning a 6 day hospital stay I had, and the course of therapy outlined by my specialists. I wanted her up to date, and on the same page.

Video visit a/v was poor which may have contributed, but I felt unheard. Very strongly had the impression that our visit was jammed in between other commitments and that the dr had somewhere else to be.
The entire experience was extremely good and I am pleased with the care I received.
I was rushed by the doctor, and I struggled to ask very basic questions quickly enough. As a result, she misunderstood my question about referrals. Also, there was no clear follow-up communication.
It was not a great visit for me- I felt the doctor was rude, and did not try to be nice but just said everything and barely said anything to me.

Didn't seem to be listening to some things I said. I told her I had already had a sleep study, used CPAP for 6 months with no improvement in daytime fatigue, and at Dr.'s recommendation, discontinued CPAP. She referred me for a sleep study anyway. We discussed endoscopy referral to an IHC physician, and she said only U of U would work. So I said never mind, I would take care of it myself, and she referred me to a U of U gastroenterologist anyway.
She rushed through the visit and dismissed my concerns. Now I need to find another provider who will take them seriously. This was a waste of my time and money.
she was rushed, probably was behind on her appointments. but it made it so she didn't listen to what my questions were. she prescribed me an antidepressant without giving me any information about it, she didn't even tell me what it was called. then left very abruptly without giving me time to ask questions I had. I felt she asked more questions about my husband and children than she did about my health. she also said she wanted to check my thyroid but she didn't order them in my labs.

I felt like that was appropriate considering the symptoms I had described to Dr. Shakeri. She did well!

As my first doctors visit post-ER visit, the interaction felt robotic. Above and beyond injuries, I was struggling to understand and cope with the emotional/mental side-effects of my TBI concussion. This seemed to be ignored while only focusing on briefly reviewing my reported injuries from the ER.The follow-up call was even worse...when they called to ask if my symptoms improved (whiplash, concussion) I went on to explain that while some aspects may have improved, others (such as emotional effects) have worsened significantly. Their response was "so....youre symptoms have improved then?"
I really like the way she wants to start on a smaller, more mild medicine and then work up from there if need be.
No treatments needed.

I'm an 83 yr old long time patient of Dr. Shakeri giving her very high ratings until this visit. I had a horrific fall landing where my back had been fuzed and I had considerable pain. I was sure that I needed an Xray; but Dr. Shakeri was reluctant and contentious-even saying that she knew what my Xray would show- that I have a degenerative back not a broken bone (because I had driven myself to the appointment and could move legs and arms) She did finally order the Xray. At one point she asked me "What do you want from me...Pain Pills??" She asked me why I had come to her Instead of my back surgeon? Dr.Shakeri was cold, unsympathetic, condescending, contentious and demeaning. As she was walking out of the room she said that she would call me if my Xray showed anything other than what she expected. She left a note on my chart-but not a call. (Another doctor might have made the call and an apology) I left feeling stunned and disrespected. I remember pausing as I left; asking myself what had just happened ??? I had come to her for help and left feeling that I didn't get anything like help.I felt like an annoyance to Dr.Shakeri-not her patient. I have never been treated anything like this In my long life. Her being behind schedule Is no excuse for this situation.

I recently started working for the University of Utah so I had to change my pcp so my wife and I had annual checkups with Dr. Shakeri. My wife is new in this country and she is still getting use to the system here so I had requested the provider to see if we can be seen together and she refused it. My wife cant remember the names of the meds and what vaccines she got in the past so I requested doc and she refused it. Within 15 mins she was done with our annual checkups and we had bunch of questions to ask her but she seemed in hurry and left the room.

The doctor did a great job helping me out with a plan on how to get better. My only concern about recommending this doctor to anyone else is that her surrounding staff. I would not want anyone to experience what I went through especially not feeling well. How you were treated when you first come in makes a huge difference on how comfortable you feel with the decisions that are made regarding your health it is so important and if you can't have an overall great experience then there's no point in sending someone to a place to get better if everyone does not have the same goal within the doctors office.
This was my first appointment with dr. I have never felt so rushed. Dr never made eye contact with me-spent whole time typing into computer-I'm sure she has no idea what I look like. When I tried to find the documents she needed, she was in such a hurry I literally had to fight back an anxiety attack. All I hope is that my appointment in three weeks gets better or this isn't going to work for me. If this speed is required of my dr by U of U, then they can't possibly be giving good care for Medicare patients.

I was in for blood pressure follow up. BP was good. Asks me if I have any other symptoms on her list. I say yes to heart flutter/murmur. She clicks a button and says absolutely nothing for the second or third visit in a row. Maybe it's nothing to her. I don't know anything about it and it's a bit concerning to me, as it's a relatively new thing. She had to get to the next appointment.

I made a mistake by asking her to just give me a sleeping aid which was the wrong decision. I called and she ordered what I needed. Repeated the instructions again. I did not follow her instructions because I was still feeling poorly, and took more. I suffered that entire night and the following day. I will not deviate from her instructions again!
The doctor was terrible. So little to no concern about many specific issues I brought up.
Dr. Shakeri is awful. I was rushed, ignored, and condescended to. She refuses to take care of my needs because it's post-op care for a surgery I had nearly a year ago and just need blood tests to make sure my levels are within range. She told me outright to go back to the surgeon whose office put me in the ER due to a medicine interaction they didn't know about because they didn't read my chart before referring me to a new medication. Dr. Shakeri made disparaging remarks about the number of medications I'm on and about my weight. She spent the entire appointment, which was a new patient intake, typing on the computer and shushing me so she could type. She dismissed my concerns completely saying they didn't matter as long as the levels are within range. When I tried to explain things to her, she kept saying, "But I don't know that. I'm not a surgeon." I don't need a surgeon; I already had the surgery. I need you to order and interpret blood tests, and give me my annual physical. The only time she looked at me was for the brief physical exam, which was rough and rushed.I will never see Dr. Shakeri again, even if she was the last doctor on earth and I was dying.

She typed on the computer with her back to me 80 percent of the time. I couldn't understand her questions when her back was turned and I asked her to repeat her question. She seemed Irritated that I couldn't understand her. I just needed her to look at me to understand her. I got more stressed the more she asked questions with her back to me. I told her the affirmative to questions I never heard because I didn't want her to get irritated. She didn't make eye contact. She only realized part way thru I was a new patient. I asked for help with a referral and she challenged me by asking retortical questions. It felt disrespectful, it was as though she was challenging me and even embarrassing me for sounding Inconsistent. I wish I would have just left and hung up. It was stressful, uncomfortable and felt like she didn't trust me or care. I am a professional myself and had notes and prepped for the appointment. I gave full attention and had question I never asked because I felt she had zero respect for me. At the end she told me to come see her for a physical and blew me a kiss. It felt like she realized she had not been friendly or compassionate but didn't want to loose my bussiness or get a bad review. Blowing me a kiss didn't work. I would prefer her look at me during the appointment and listened to why I came rather than her agenda on the computer. I will need to find a new MD.

sadly it felt as if Dr Shakirri could not wait to be done with the appointment. i needed meds refills and a referral to a pain clinic neither of which happened.eaving me without insulin she did not make eye contact with me once and talked over me repeatedly

She is very nice and very friendly, but for me she talks to fast and just seems to want to get you out of the office as soon as possible. No discussion about any of my concerns. I am sure some people appreciate that type of quick visit but I would rather have a more involved discussions about my visits/concerns.

I think maybe the provider felt rushed, but it meant I was not given the opportunity to share my health history and discuss all of my current concerns.

Dr Shakeri genuinely cares about you as a whole person. She takes care of my every need even when I had an emergency happen outside of the U of U system. My husband sent a message informing her of what happened and she responded immediately and was VERY thorough at my follow up visit later. She is honest, thorough and really is just an all around great person with a very big heart.

Because of the "virus " it was a meeting on line. Dr. Shakeri and my daughter-in-law, Heidi, set everything up and it was amazing. Of course, my temperature was not taken and no blood was drawn. However, I don't have fevers these days and I do check my blood two times per day. It is always in a fairly good range. Perhaps not perfect, but good enough that I do not worry.
There was a problem with the video link so we could not see each other, just a telephone conversation

I love having dr. shakeri as my primary dr. She has listened to me and sent me to specialist that have caught my common cancer in 2002 in the early stages. she also listened to me regarding my recent issues regarding my dizzy spells and light headedness. she referred me to a cardiologist and he referred me for many tests and resulted in me referred to electrocardiologist. Thankfully they found the results which showed my heart pauses and now I'm sceduled for a pacemaker procedure. so thankful to have my team of doctors from the U of U.

Never have I worked with such an ornery doctor. She is rude and disrespectful. She snapped at me for asking questions and called me "crazy" for questioning whether I needed a test. It is normal to ask why you need an expensive test. No need to be impatient with me I'm not questioning the doctor's authority; I'm questioning whether I need a $1000 test.

The provider I worked with was very disappointing. Lack of timeliness, care, and listening skills. I attempted to ask questions about my health and she simply said that she would not discuss those things and said that she "can't help me". I totally understand the need to refer people but I asked very simple questions and it felt like she did not care enough to truly listen. Plus, I left the appointment without any next step or direct referral, which was my whole point of going in the first place. She was very dismissive and had very poor empathy and communication skills. The entire appointment only lasted about 10 minutes (even though she was almost 10 minutes late). I had seen this provider in person before and felt similarly, but figured that I'd give her another shot because everyone has tough days but after this experience, I absolutely would not recommend. Very disappointing provider.
