I had been using a statin drug and had decided to discontinue doing so after experiencing painful side effects with my Saitic nerve. There were also some issues of a more private nature not related to medication. The doctor informed me of options and consequences with all issues discussed and agreed to review all during our next visit. I found him to be straight forward and friendly while keeping focused on the reason for my visit. At no time did I feel rushed or in any way uncomfortable with him coming away with the confidence that working with him in future would not only be successful in every aspect but that the time would be well spent.

Number one I love the service I was feeling ill I had to do something about it call the clinic Greenwood talk to a nurse checked for the nearest available appointment someway somehow she got me in at 11:50 thats called service love it got there didnt have to wait long most 10 minutes the nurse came walk me to the back took my temperature results were great respect a few minutes later Dr. Michael L. Pestotnik Came in and asked me questions how I felt Overall I thought it was great how He presented himself Its hard to find good doctors anymore PS thank you for looking after me!!

He seemed to be in a hurry to move on. Said to stay on what medication I already had. I told him I needed all refilled and none got refilled. I had to call back and only half got refilled, then transferred me to a pharmacist to take care of me. Now waiting for 2 weeks for that appointment and still no medication for my diabetes, so it will be a month that I haven't taken medication for it. Seems like it is no big deal with my health concerns.

Establishing care in Utah, first visit this provider. Main presenting concern stated online/ mychart was met with "people are obsessed with that". The effect left me thinking, is this a credible concern, and are you going to get to the bottom of It. Or this Is good enough for obsessive type presentations. HCP is working me up, however I didn't appreciate being lumped into a group of obsessed pts. Obsessed is a poor choice ;preoccupy or fill the mind of (someone) continually, intrusively, and to a troubling extent."he was obsessed with the theme of death"Paying over 3,000 after tax dollars cash for insurance per month, plus $10,000 family deductible (46,000, I take consumption and value seriously. I expect a reasonable differential diagnosis arrived at without careless comments. I am not " people" I am an individual with unique genetics. I complied with the orders (most) the following day. Unfortunately this not the only odd comment. I will take the labs and follow up elsewhere. PS: the flu shot I requested was not administered. I paid cash at the pharmacy the following day.
I did not respect how he treated me ! He repeated over and over about the o tolerance drug policy. As he ordered me a drug test before he would prescribe me my medicine that I have been taking for 20 years and more. I'm not a drug addict ! I have autism.

I had my yearly wellness check/ physical with blood work on Tuesday, August 30 at Redstone Clinic. The results of my blood work with flags was posted to My Chart on Wednesday August 31without doctor review or comments. It is now Saturday, September 3, three days later and still there is no review or comments from my doctor. This is unacceptable from a primary care physician. In addition, I did not receive a reply to an email I sent on August 30 regarding my concerns over the initial draw and preparation for the blood draw -also, unacceptable. I expect a higher standard of care from physicians within the University of Utah system -that is why my family and I are in this system. More broadly, test results should not be posted to My Chart before the provider has reviewed it..
The doctor had a wet cough during our appointment, and his tone seemed rather stern and he seemed to need to stick to his questions as much as possible, as he seemed rushed. He's probably just overworked, as he's booked out for months.
Dr Pestotnik has the worst bedside manner of any doctor that I have visited. The first time I saw him I gave him the benefit of th doubt because everybody has bad days. The second time he was just as rude as the first time, leading me to believe this is just his personality. He was condescending, rolled his eyes more than once when I asked a question, and acted like he was trying to get me out the door as soon as possible. Unfortunately my tests revealed a potentially serious medical issue, but I do not trust Dr Pestotnik to continue on with my care and am seeking a new provider.
It would be better to send out surveys within a day or two of appointments. It has been 2 weeks and I believe I removed all that was discussed but not absolutely sure
Both the nurse and dr didn't seem to engage with us as humans until the end of the visit. It's seems that if the Dr.is typing patient notes furiously it's hard to engage. On the other hand, it's nice to complete charts right there, rather than at end of day or at home. Also, have we lost the art of a genuine introduction that includes pausing and asking how you are and engaging- especially due to the nature of medicine- we are here because at some level we are concerned. Immediately when we both left the building we said "was that whole experience weird?" Competent Dr for sure but affect off. Also, I know my 19 year old is not a minor but if a parent shows up I think it's respectful to at least look at them once in awhile during a conversation. Especially when the 19 year old is including the parent in the conversation. Read the room, the people, the energy of their relationship and adapt in a kind and generous way. It took the whole appointment before I felt like Dr was. Connecting with us. He did an excellent job talking about treatments- very thorough and Knowles able with options. It's just unfortunate his bedside manner was so off putting - along with nurse that I would recommend the clinic to anyone. It seems that they really didn't like their "job" which was sad.

At times he didn't really seem to be listening...was just going through the motions...a bit flippant. Having been closely involved with the U of U Health System for over a decade, he just wasn't up to par with what I have come to expect from the U's Faculty.
Dr. Pestotnik listens to your concerns and takes them seriously without making you overly concerned with a negative prognosis.

This is the second time I saw this provider as mine retired. He is my new primary care provider. I was there for a medication refill. I have been on this medication for 6 years. I'm happy to see him whenever I need a refill. I recently suffered a foot injury and received 4 separate medications from a podiatrist. They included a antibiotic, burn cream, medicated soak and pain medication. This appointment was not about my injury. He started the appointment by lecturing me about pain medication. He gave me the controlled substance policy. This had nothing to do why I was there, a foot doctor is managing my foot injury. He never once asked what my injury was, how I was doing, it the infection was better. He only lectured me for the effects of pain medication, without actually asking if I took any. He did not ask about me as his patient or offer any sort of follow up. I felt extremely attacked by the provider. He did not ask if I had any questions with any of my medications. He did not make me feel safe during the appointment, He only lectured me and made me feel very uncomfortable. I will not be seeing him again. Redstone is a small facility and after talking with some friends they also had poor experiences with him. I never felt like he had my well being as a priority.
Not that anyone really cares but I have had blood work results in over a week now and I still have yet to be contacted. Many results are abnormal and despite multiple emails I have heard nothing nothing at all

As a new patient, I was so impressed by the special care he took to review my history, listen to my issues and asked important follow-up questions. He was very thorough and knowledgeable and clearly explained his concerns, advised me of his recommended next steps and provided referrals for my treatment. I am confident in Dr. Pestotnik's management of my care and highly recommend him.

If I could give him a 6 or higher I would. He should be recognized by UOfU. I didn't know him at all before my first visit last month but he identified things which have been lingering problems and plan to fix them

It would be really nice if all people in the healthcare system would spend time LOOKING at their patients instead of typing on a computer screen. Do you all watch posture, facial expressions, etc. I have had appointments elsewhere where another person made the record and the health care professional listened and watched and had a discussion.

Since I was in a wellness appt and not a annual physical appt, my appt was extremely fast. Although I was offered to reschedule but I declined since it too me about a month to get this appt.
This was my first encounter with Dr. Pestotnik who I found to be very efficient and thorough in my physical. He listened to my concerns and addressed them. An excellent physician in my opinion (and both my wife and son are physicians and I taught medical students so I do have some knowledge in this area).
This visit was for med refills and He was unable to send them to Express scripts due to computer issues. He printed them out and I sent them in after 4 days waiting for Pharm. Techs to follow up and resend.

Thus he took extra time to answer all my bazillion questions he was respectful, kind, caring .. Never condescending. I really appreciate his extra time and would recommend him to anyone

Dr farrel had taken me off all meds in April and my concern was A1c levels and cholesterol numbers Dr Pasternick ordered blood work to confirm levels .
He said he was going to contact Dr. Mahoney right away, as he was concerned about the pituitary adenoma. I have yet to hear anything back.
This was a Wellness visit so many of the questions don't really apply. That said everyone was veery courteous and helpful.

I've never had a PCP take a look at my total overall health condition, understand all of the issues and how they might be connected and most importantly take the time to sit down and explain everything in detail while also listening to my concerns and come up with a smart plan of action. In addition unlike so many other experiences, I never felt rushed or that the Dr. Pestotnik had to leave to see another patient. This was the best Dr./Patient experience I ever had and I left the clinic feeling like for the first time I truly have an amazing health care professional in my corner advocating for me.

Poor communication between the provider and myself. It took five days to get an answer that he could do not help me. No further discussion of my situation after my virtual visit. This is unacceptable patient care.
It took a few appointments for Mike to loosen up and realize that I, not he, is in charge of my body. But we're good now.

There were a number of times that my mother or I tried to say something and he talked over us. Our first visit with this doctor had been very positive but I did not have as good of a feeling this time.

Saw this doctor because i am trying to establish a new PCP because i feel the quality of care has diminished from my current doctor. Dr Pestotnik was recommended to me, but i am 2nd guessing my decision because of the lack of follow up with explanations of test results.

follow up has been poor. after a round of antibiotics that did not resolve my issue, I called first thing in the morning to get a stronger medication. while I heard nothing back the entire day, I called first thing on day two, I heard nothing back on day two. I called at 5:30pm on day two explaining my discomfort and urgency of new medication. I again never heard from a doc or nurse regarding new medication. I am new to the practice and find this lack of follow up disappointing.
The Dr was very nice but I went in thursday for a bladder infection and it is monday four days later and I still dont have any treatment.
