Mindy Orr, APRN, DNP

Mindy Orr, DNP, APRN is a Nurse Practitioner at Huntsman Cancer Hospital, specializing in breast cancer surgical oncology. In her role, she cares for surgical patients, assists in the operating room, and provides post-operative breast cancer care. In clinic, she performs a range of minor procedures including breast biopsies, cyst aspirations, and port removals.

Previously, Mindy worked in Medical Oncology, specializing in the treatment of hospitalized patients who are in treated for cancer, including solid tumors, brain tumors and CNS malignancies as well as the Burn Trauma ICU at University of Utah Health specializing in burn trauma critical care including inpatient and outpatient management of patients with thermal, electrical, and cold injuries.

Education and Recognitions

Mindy holds three degrees from the University of Utah including; BSN Business Management, BSN Nursing, and DNP Acute Care Nursing.

She won the Rookie of the Year Burn Unit award in 2012.

Mindy's Research Interests Include:

• Survivorship and continuity of care after cancer diagnosis
• Survivorship after traumatic injury
• Wound healing techniques
• Burn survivor reintegration
• Scar management

In her spare time, Mindy enjoys hanging out with her family, attending live music shows, hiking, running, paddle boarding, baking, U of U Football, RSL or enjoying a fine meal with family or friends.
