Monica completed a manual physical therapy program through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) and became a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT) in 2002 as well as becoming a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2001. She taught as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Utah Division of Physical Therapy from 1997-2004. She completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in the Spring of 2008, her project was on coccydynia.
