I cannot imagine how there could be a better experience. From getting me in quickly for my first appointment, to doing my surgery much sooner than any on they Dr could to excellent in hospital and post op care. They made a scary and uncomfortable situation much better. The operation went much better than I had expected and even better than I had hoped. Outside of a bit of shoulder soreness and the nuisance of wearing a neck collar for 6 weeks it was really a breeze considering he opened my neck and replaced my C6 vertebra with a titanium device.
I originally chose Dr. Spina for help with my back issues due to his expertise in this area. I appreciate his knowledge and the time he takes with me.

Dr Spina is the best doctor you could ask for. He saved my life. I had a super bug that ate away a lower disc in my back. It was extremely painful and Dr's in Idaho was unable to work on me. If you ever need a Neurologist / Surgeon go no further. I've never have had a Doctor spend more time (not in a rush) expaining my condition, giving me options all in simple language. When it was time for surgery, I had all my questions answered and procedure explained. During my surgery, they kept my family informed and he checked on me when I woke up from the anaesthesia. He explained how everything went (success)! His staff kept in touch with me and my 6=week check up went great. Besides Dr. Spina being the best surgeon he's also one of the nicest!

I came from out of state based on his reputation. Decisions about my surgery were made with excellent input and consideration for me personally due to my lifestyle. He has an excellent communication style and seems to respect his team members which is important to me. Staff in the hospital sang his praises, giving me great confidence. My results are great at this stage of healing. I feel the extra effort it took to come from a distance for a total so far of 3 visits was well worth it. I've already recommended Dr. Spina to others .

I was referred from out of state. The decision as to what surgery was best was difficult. I consulted several doctors before Dr. Spina. I had positive input from a patient , physical therapist, Dr Doina former colleague and my local orthopedic team. Dr Spina performed surgery 4 years ago to fuse L4-L5. My recovery has been much better than I expected. L4 was shifted forward on L5 about 7mm which was pinching both the spinal cord and the lateral nerves to my legs. I had been told that surgery could not fix this condition, Dr Spina suceeded in shifting the alignment back enough to eliminate all of my leg pain and that associated with that joint. I didn't tolerate PT well post op. but have taken to walking 4-8 miles per week. This has reduced my back pain to an episode every couple of months. I believe I am an exception to the results most people have and wish anyone well who is experiencing the back pain and sciatica issues that I was. I certainly will go to Dr Spina in the future if my spine continues to deteriorate.
He is a man you can trust to take the best care of you. And he in my opinion is the very best at what he does!!!
