Wonderful staff and Doctor.

Dr. Meriac was right there with me -- looked in my eye, expressed real interest in my background and health and offered straightforward, confident advice.

The medical assistant was very helpful in removing the medications I was taking but I don't think my doctor was aware that I was already seeing a psychiatrist because he referred me to a clinic for anxiety and I failed to explain that.

I came to this facility to develop a relationship with a primary care physician. I had a physical and blood work done 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately when drawing blood the nurse aggravated a nerve in my arm which has left me unable to lift anything for two weeks with that arm. I have brought it up twice but the Dr doesn't pay much attention to it. I understand it wasn't on purpose but it was an unfortunate start. During follow up visits for an unrelated foot injury I felt extremely rushed and not heard. The Dr. Was physically attempting to walk out of the office as I was still asking questions. I had to ask the assistant 3 follow up questions because the Dr left the room. The assistant had to go interrupt another appointment to get answers. I would have scheduled two appointments had I known I wouldn't be given adequate time to address my needs. I had asked to get scheduled with a foot specialist but the Dr. Told me that it was very hard to get in with a specialist and it would take a while. I asked to still be scheduled with one but it never got done as the Dr. Was quick to leave the room. I will be trying to find another primary care physician.

Dr never gave the sense of being rushedmy first time meeting him and he spent a few minutes learning a bit about me-and vice versa.

This was my first encounter with this provider. He listened to all of my concerns and we talked about my options. I left feeling like this provider will take good care of me.

I wanted Dr Meriac for a total body well-being perspective and I think, over time, as he gets to know me, I will get that kind of care. It's a first visit. Relationship takes time.

I brought up concerns about a family history of skin cancer, but minimal effort was put toward checking for early warning signs and no discussion was had on what to look for or anything like that.

Walked me through everything, told me risks and answered any questions.

He was the rudest Doctor I have ever had a visit with. I honestly left the office in tears. He was judgmental, had no sympathy, was quick to assumption and did not listen to my concerns. He barely did an exam and then got defensive when I asked about it.

Dr Meriac is an outstanding clinician who listens and takes the time to address my concerns, which is rare in these hurried times.

Dr. Meriac Showed little to no concern for my well being as a patient other than the purpose of checking boxes, passively getting me to sign an agreement with zero explanation as to why, and even more passively requesting I provide a urine sample with no explanation as to why then sent a passive three sentence electronic message saying he was cutting me off from medication I have been taking for over 8 years and to go get re-evaluated by a psychiatrist. I had to proactively schedule an appointment to get my questions answered and addressed which is disturbing if a DO is supposed to be communicating. Collaborating, and educating their patients to achieve the best possible outcomes. Unprofessional and his comments in his notes made me feel low like there is something wrong with me and I should go see a psychiatrist. Shameful.

I was very pleased with the concern Dr. Meriac demonstrated regarding a past blood test result. I was only needing a prescription refill, but he saw something concerning and wanted to check it. Honestly, I haven't had that kind of concern at Redstone for a few years. I already recommended him to a friend who was a patient of PA Briley.
