Dr. Reena Tam received an M.D. from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed a pediatrics residency at the University of Utah followed by a two-year Pediatric Global Health Fellowship in rural Gujarat, India; the IHS facility in Chinle, Arizona; and Butare, Rwanda.
Dr. Tam is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah. She is an Associate Program Director within the pediatric residency program. She is the Director of Education for the Global, Rural, Underserved Child Health (GRUCH) Program and oversees development of the resident certificate pathway and rotation electives. She also leads Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts within the pediatric residency program. Other interests include improving global health education through equity, anti-racism, and decolonization, engaging in global partnerships with a focus on equity, and fostering language inclusivity at Primary Children's Hospital. She is also the physican lead for Schwartz Rounds at Primary Children's Hospital and a Wellness Champion for the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
When I am not working, I enjoy road biking, trail running, mountain biking, skiing, XC, coaching women's lacrosse, and getting my dogs some exercise.
