well i have seen him 1 time but i think that i am going to be pleased with help he is going to do for me
Dr. Kersten seems to know what he is doing but lacks communication skills with patients (at least with this patient). He decides immediately what needs to be done, without explaining why, and is in a big hurry to move on.
He gave me my eye site back in my left eye for Christmas. It started 3 years ago. I had a surgery done that should not have been that added confusion to the problem. Blood test afterward showed I had Myasthenia gravis. Dr Kersten was the 3rd Neuro - ophthalmologist I went to for help. He was quick he was thorough setup a game plan and now I can properly use my left eye.
Really impressed.
Very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. Disappointed I was sent home after the surgery with an eye abrasion and no pain meds. Swiftly remedied the next day after a sleepless night. I would highly recommend this doctor.
Dr Kirsten is intelligent and kind!
Very timely, yet letting the patient know, services are there when in need
Very good doctor!
If you are uncertain, ask. He is very good about explaining. He is also an excellent surgeon.
He also was comforting and told me what to expect as he went along
Muy profesional el sabe lo que ase esprica todo con clarida para entender todo aserca de lo que el paciente nesecita
He was both kind and helpful!

Dr Kirsten is a very caring and skilled doctor!
Dr. Kiersten was very caring and considerate.
Dr. Kersten was very helpful in explaining things to me as a professional and has a pleasant personality that enables you to ask any questions you might have.
Doctor has a genuine concern. Nice guy. Unfortunately, always late for appointments. Doctor said he'd write a note for working remotely, but didn't follow through.
The doctor was ok. He was with some students. Perhaps that is why I did not receive post op instructions. At my 2 wk check up he asked if I was wearing my eye shield? I was never given a shield, I was never told about a shield. So I had to go back in and pick it up from the front desk. I live in Lehi, the office was at the hospital in Salt Lake. I also have a scar but he says it should subside. The shield was intended to be used in the first couple weeks. When I informed him I had no idea about a shield. I asked if it mattered since it already had been 2 weeks. He stumbled a little bit, I am assuming because he realized I was given NO instruction. He said sure it wouldn't hurt and then after I asked he explained what the shield did. Luckily I sleep with a silk eye mask, that protected my eye.
Dr Kersten is personable, a good listener, and convincingly explains his rational for the recommended procedure.
Excelente mdico
He is warm, friendly, funny and a FANTASTIC doctor.
Dr. Kersten has great bedside manner. Very pleasant!
We barely seen him at the follow up appointment. After the surgery we never did see him. I understand that he is busy and has other patients beside just [NAME REMOVED] but maybe take a little extra time/care to just step in for a minute. Otherwise maybe his nurses deserve a pay raise.
I appreciated how, once Dr. Kersten found that I had 40 years in as an experienced critical care, trauma and oncology RN, he immediately began speaking in "our" language so he didn't have to translate out of medicalese for a lay person.
Dr.Kersten and Dr. Suti are amazing!
Very good in all areas. Thx
He is very courteous and very good. He has helped me more than any of the doctors I've had looking at my eyes before.
Courteous and professional
Dr. Kersten is very friendly, an listens carefully to your concerns. Explains things thoroughly. Do not hesitate to have Dr. Kersten to be your Doctor!
Dr. Kersten is an excellent surgeon and I was pleased with the results and also that he included my son in my care.
Dr Kersten was great about an explaining how my injury to my eye, was healing.
What a great person, he cared very what i had to say and treated me with respect.
I like his southern accent. I also liked the fact that he told me he wasnt sure what is going on but that hed do everything he could to figure it out. Some doctors wont admit they dont know everything.
Short and simple.
Friendly and informative
Dr Kersten didn't remove some of the lesions because he thought they were in a different area and had cleared up before surgery. He didn't answer me when I asked him about this.
Dr. Kersten was AMAZING and feel comfortable with his decisions referencing my care.
I sent a thank you note to the Dr and his staff. Again, everything felt rushed but not their fault, too many patients, too little time.
Dr. Kersen took time to explain procedure and clarify expectations. His associates were also excellent.
Wonderful, knowledgeable Doctor.
Very knowledgeable of his job!
he will show you explain to you make you feel like you can make the decisions. He makes you feel comfortable about your problems

My daughter has a rare condition of the eyelids and Dr Kersten has been taking care of her since we was around 2 months old. She is almost 9 now. He has performed two surgeries on her; one at 1 year old (at UCSF) and the most recent around 9 months ago. Both surgeries yielded great results. Dr Kersten is a wonderful surgeon.
I felt that my post op pain was not managed well.
Knowledgeable, pleasant.
Very professional
Hes a great doctor.
Would highly recommend
Dr Kersten was very attentive to every single detail regarding my son's visit. He explained us what's best for kim and how to take care of his scars. I would like to recommend Dr Calhoun Kersten to all of my friends and family. Thank you.
Very professional yet personable. Now if he could only make me look younger!!
Friendly, knowledgeable and experienced.
In a follow-up visit regarding possible ptosis surgery, it was apparent that Dr. Kersten had not reviewed my chart nor the objective eye testing results from an initial visit. The appointment time was over an hour late and while Dr. Kersten apologized, he also explained that he had a flight to catch. The eye examination then took less then 5 minutes. While he may be an excellent surgeon, this clinic visit was cursory and disappointing.
Dr. Kersten is amazing! He takes the time to explain everything and is very patient in answering questions. He's also a great surgeon, and I couldn't be more pleased with my surgery.
more detailed explanation of procedure b4 surgery
good care
Dr. Kersten spent less than 5 minutes with me. The nurse and fellow spent the bulk of the time during this appointment.
Dr Kirsten is outstanding. Thorough and did an exceptional job on my eye surgery.

Dr. Kersten is friendly and caring. He very efficiently and quickly took care of my eyelid issue. The office and medical staff were also very helpful.

Nice guy when he finally showed up.
I saw a doctor in NM who told me I shouldn't worry about my eyes. Dr. Kersten represents the highest quality of care that the Moran Eye Center is known for. About 15 yrs ago I was treated for TED and the results were life changing. I was able to see normally for the first time in years. I have total confidence in Dr. Kersten's evaluation and plan for my care.
Yeah, but he's very courteous and caring

Our first time with this Doctor and I felt he cared more about his intern than the patient!
Dr. Kersten and his MD college were very professional and respectful. They explained the treatment options that I had to treat my condition.
Dr Kersten is an amazing surgeon. He actively listens and genuinely cares about me as his patient. I traveled from CA to see him. He performed a rare surgery on me in CA 12+ years ago. He is a top surgeon, I won't see or trust anyone else with my eyes.
He is so busy and doesn't have enough time to listen to his patients

My external DCR surgery with Dr. Kersten went very well and I'm grateful. I saw him as a follow up to get a few concerns addressed about my recovery progression. He listened patiently and reassured me that all was progressing as it should. I felt reassured that complete healing takes time and also felt confident that all would be well.
Very nice Doctor. Made my decision very easy.
I did not feel comfortable, I should have researched my eye condition prior to the visit, then I might have had more questions, his explanation was inadequate
Dr. Kersten is very professional, friendly, and caring all while being extremely helpful.
I have seen many doctors in this field over the years trying to correct my eye issues. Dr. Kersten has the best bedside manner of any provider I have seen. He is so kind and I don't have to wait hours in his office to be seen. He is great at explaining procedures and my recovery after surgery was the best I have ever had. I highly recommend Dr. Kersten.

GREAT!!
I felt totally gaslighted by him about my condition. No suggestions.
Dr Kersten was reassuring and convincing when he diagnosed an issue that needed resolution.
This provider did not listen to my concerns or address them. It was clear they had not read my chart beforehand by their lack of understanding as to where my eye problems and risk factors came from. Is always behind and has only spent a couple minutes in each appt Ive had with them. At my last appt they did not even look at my eyes even though they were both having problems and pain at the time.
Very personable and professional. Had a great sense of humor without taking away from his professionalism.
