SOUTH JORDAN HEALTH CENTERI saw Craig Smith O.D for my annual eye exams for years before he retired last year. He was always prompt and he did my exams from start to finish. His bar was high so I have that to compare this experience to.

I was never greeted by him, I was called by the wrong name (I'm a transgender patient), and I was left feeling like I was just a patient number, not really a person, in his eyes. The visit wasn't bad or even really unpleasant, I got what I needed and went for, but I don't think I would recommend this doctor to anyone else.

The difference between this experience and all others I have had was night and day. Suffering from keratoconus and having poor vision has been extremely frustrating and disappointing for me. To have Dr. Corry put so much time and effort into giving me the best vision possible means so so much to me. In the past I feel like other doctors have had the attitude that after a little effort the results were good enough. Dr. Corry seemed to make It a point of personal pride to get the prescription perfect. He even thanked me for all the work that I did to get the prescription right. I simply cannot express how much his effort to give me the best vision possible means to me.

SOUTH JORDAN HEALTH CENTERcould not have been more grateful for the extraordinary way that staff worked me into clinic so quickly, evaluated quickly and how quickly Dr Corry was able to provide immediate relief with analgesic eyedrop while simultaneously diagnosing the corneal abrasion. I was in so much pain and was so incredibly grateful for the quick and effective response. Truly amazed. I know I wasn't a scheduled patient and this likely threw off the rest of the clinic, and I just so appreciate their ability to help me out in such a tough situation. Truly above and beyond.

Because of Dr Corry & staff's prompt and expert care, I was able to have relief eye pain within <24 hrs and was able to return to work the next day, when hours before I couldn't even open my eye without severe pain. I don't think this would have happened if they hadn't been able to work me into clinic at the very beginning of the day, because my clinical improvement started approx 16 hrs after initial treatment started. Thank you SO much!!!

REDWOOD HEALTH CENTERI had a very difficult experience. I was given pupil dilation drops for the first time in my life. I had explained to the nurse that it was my first time having an eye test in the USA, but I didn't mention this to my Dr. However, I felt I was given no explanation of what the pupil dilation drops do, no warning, no checking that I was safe to drive, no informed consent, and no knowledge about the risks of the procedure. At the end of the appointment I was given sunglasses and told I would be reactive to light. I struggled with my vision for the rest of the day and had pain for a few days afterwards. I ended up going to Urgent Care the evening of my appointment as I was warned by an optician friend that my reaction was atypical.

I then had to ask for exact measurements. Then asked if she qualified for contacts. Then said MD said yes. Dr. Corey should discuss his exam findings with the patient. It was bad experience since I have to ask basic information before he leaves the room. The contact fitting was not explained too me and never mentioned additional cost of it ($70) until after it was done. Financial transparency is important to me and my family.

A very important part of the exam which made it impossible to fill the prescription for glasses without completing it. Very poor which left me with no confidence in his skills and/or care of my eyes. He never explained anything. What about the pressure of my eyes and propensity of getting macular degeneration.

And when I asked him, he displayed this mild level of "oh, ya everything is fine" as if my question was somewhat out of the ordinary.

I couldn't find the words to ask what was going on, what he thought, etc. intimidated maybe? he did kind of verbalize 1 or 2 things - in minimal way when asked. to be fair I had opportunity to ask questions/ask for "play by play" version of eye exam! (why all the gadgets and stuff used, what he found or didn't find, etc) felt dumb that I didn't already know what eye exam entailed but would have loved + appreciated more education and dialogue. I regret not asking. But I couldn't form the questions, didn't know where to start with my cluelessness (embarrassed). Kind of one of those situations where I didn't know what I didn't know, maybe, so I was at a loss when I wanted to ask what the heck was going on/the health of my eyes/more about my script. doctor was punctual and efficient also professional.

I asked him if I would be a candidate for a common eye procedure and he gave me a good explanation. However, he did not give me alternative options. Maybe he was too busy? Now that I know Dr. Corry's style, it's helpful for me to manage my expectations and not to expect a safe space. Rather, he's a 'no malarkey' you get what you pay for type of provider.

I'm not sure why. The treatment he prescribed last year did nothing. He seemed surprised. I'm trying the current treatment, which he knows is a stronger version of another failed OTC treatment I tried on my own. Sigh. I am happy with his ability to nail my corrective lens rx, which is fairly difficult.
