Rosa Speranza, MD, MS is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah. She specializes in the management of high-risk pregnancies and currently sees patients for prenatal care and consultations before, during, or after pregnancy. She has clinics at University of Utah Hospital, Greenwood Health Center, and the Population Health Center at Rose Park Primary Clinic.

Dr. Speranza completed medical school at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR, and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. She next completed her subspecialty training with fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Utah.

Her clinical and research interests include placenta accreta spectrum, perinatal substance use disorder, labor and delivery, breech birth, preeclampsia, alloimmunization, perinatal palliative care and birth trauma as well as bioethics, implementation science and qualitative research.

Beyond work, Dr. Speranza enjoys listening to the radio, growing things (plants, children), and being outside.
