I moved to Farmington recently and given my long history of eye-care needs, I was quite concerned about finding a practitioner who would fit my long list of requirements and expecations. I wish the provider could have explained my options better. I don't know the difference between bifocals trifocals and progressives. I didn't know the cost difference that progressives would be until after I was handing over my credit card and it was too late to change my mind. I just feel like it would have been helpful to have my options presented, with pros and cons, so then I could choose.
When I told her what the school nurse told me (who called me after the failed eye test and made sure that I found a pediatric ophthalmologist), she seemed a bit blas? and said it's not a big concern. Not that I am disappointed it's not a big concern, just didn't understand why his teacher and school nurse thought it was a bigger deal than it was.

She did a good job explaining treatments for dry eyes. However, it was my understanding that the appointment would include an eye exam. I had to make another appointment for the eye exam.
