In my humble opinion, Dr. Ruiz is truly the only consistently positive experience I've had at the U. Whether he's able to treat the issue directly or needs to refer me elsewhere, his bedside manner is what sets him apart'empathetic, kind, and deeply respectful. He genuinely listens, which is such a rare and valuable quality in a doctor. You never feel rushed or dismissed; he makes you feel heard, seen, and cared for. I've been willing to travel 30 miles just to see him specifically, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. That's how much his compassion and professionalism mean to me. I'll admit, I haven't always been the easiest patient'not because of anything he's done, but just from the frustration of being sick and bounced around to specialists. If I could give 12 stars out of 10, I would. Steve Ruiz is so knowledgeable about every issue I've ever had. I have been to other doctors at urgent care when Steve wasn't available and they did not know what was wrong with me. However, when I would go to Steve a couple days later, he would know exactly what the issue was and how to treat it. Often he would tell me what he thought it might be, but refer me to a specialist, and in every case the specialist would see the same diagnosis that Steve had already seen. He is amazing and the only doctor I ever want to go to!!

I have not found a better care provider. I feel he is dedicated to me and finding a solution to my medical issues that have been going on for a long time without a successful resolve from other doctors. He isnt giving up until we get to the bottom of my concerns. I feel very and wholly cared for by him.

I came in with a concern that could have several diagnoses and was of course worrying about the worst case scenario. I wasnt made to feel crazy or dramatic for coming in so early. He addressed the issue immediately by ordering bloodwork and putting in referrals to make sure I was seen asap by specialists. He talked through my fears with me and helped me feel less anxious and more in control even if the worst case happened.
