Dr. Susan Dalton received her medical degree from the University of Florida and finished her OB/GYN residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She then completed her specialized fellowship training in high-risk pregnancy (maternal-fetal medicine) at the University of Utah, where she now teaches as an assistant professor in the Division of OB/GYN-MFM at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine.
Her current research interests involve imaging in adverse pregnancy outcomes, genetic adverse pregnancy outcomes, and nutrition in pregnancy. This includes the evaluation of image findings for fetal diagnosis and adverse pregnancy outcomes in collaboration with the Department of Radiology. The project spans the maternal-fetal spectrum from fetal conditions like birth defects to maternal conditions such as the placental accreta spectrum (PAS).
