  • Born and raised in a medical family in Southern California, I was interested in family medicine from an early age. I obtained my bachelor’s degree from UC Davis and my medical degree from The Ohio State University. I completed my Family Medicine residency at Long Beach Memorial, where I was lucky to work in a diverse city and see patients of all ages and backgrounds. Following this, I worked in a rural farming community in Central Valley of California. I am thrilled to have joined the University of Utah. I love to take care of entire families, from newborns to centenarians. My specific interests include management of chronic disease (hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders), women’s health (including procedural birth control and prenatal care), mental health, LGBTQ care, and office procedures. I completed specialized training through UC Irvine in Psychiatry for Primary Care, with emphasis on pediatric anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Outside of medicine, I enjoy indoor soccer, tennis, skiing, and spending time with my husband and my Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Amber.

Amazing doctor! Dr. Burstein is very knowledgeable, great listener, and willing to investigate on small to complex issues. I have seen over a dozen of medical providers, and she was the first one to take me seriously. Dr. Burstein has been easy to contact and get help for regular ailments and super great with referring/coordinating care with specialists for things outside of her scope. I really trust her to help me make the best decisions for my health.

I hadn't been to a general care doctor for 12 years because of negative experiences in the past with healthcare, but I've been struggling so much with my health I needed help. Dr. Burstein and her assistant were very kind and skilled. They alleviated my fears of going to see the doctor.

I had a visit to establish care and get assistance with several concerns I had and it went very well, I felt like she took the time to listen to me and valued my input and information. The visit didn't feel rushed and at the end of the visit I felt hopeful and relieved to have a provider who truly took the time to know me and help me

Good visit. Examined my foot and knee, then did a range of motion for both. She answered my questions and explained the cause of my knee issue.
