  • Dr. Thomsen received his medical degree from the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine. He completed a residency in general pediatrics at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he also served as chief resident and practiced as a pediatric hospitalist. He completed his clinical fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at the University of Utah. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Division at the University of Utah.

    Dr. Thomsen’s clinical interests include care of children with childhood leukemia, lymphoma and various other cancers. Dr. Thomsen’s research focuses on improving care of children with childhood cancer by applying quality improvement principles to everyday care. He is passionate about medical education and improving hematology-oncology education in pediatric residency programs and has a keen interest in improving access to pediatric hematology-oncology services throughout the intermountain west.
