5 Steps to Safer Cycling

Nearly 1,000 bicyclists die and over 130,000 are injured in crashes on roads in the U.S. every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Biking is a great way to get exercise and can be safe if precautions are taken.

  1. Wear a helmet, and make sure it fits.
  2. Ride on bike trails or in low-traffic areas.
  3. Know your state’s bicycle safety laws.
