Our History
The Office of Wellness and Integrative Health was established in 2014 to align wellness services across campus. Our office quickly grew to serve patients and the community with multiple partnerships, including the Driving Out Diabetes Initiative. In June 2022, University of Utah Health joined the Osher Collaborative for Integrative Health, a prestigious international group of 11 academic health centers.
This transition led to re-naming (2022) and formal center status (2023) as the Osher Center for Integrative Health (OCIH). Our establishment as a formal center had a significant impact on promoting health and well-being for the Utah community.
We continue to grow and evolve. Throughout 2024, we refined our programs and vision:
- Revised an evidence-based wellness program for university employees
- Refined a crisis response protocol for clinical units
- Expanded capacity for community-facing programs
The Osher Collaborative
As a member of the Osher Collaborative, we are dedicated to studying, teaching, and practicing integrative health. The collaborative works to advance the field of integrative health and medicine through the sharing of knowledge, resources, and best practices. Funded by The Bernard Osher Foundation, the mission of the Osher Collaborative is to amplify the collective impact of its members in order to improve health and well-being for all.
