Moran Welcomes Cornea Specialist Katherine Hu, MD

Katherine S. Hu, MD, who completed specialty training at the John A. Moran Eye Center, has now joined the institution to offer patients the latest vision correction options.

As a cornea specialist, Hu offers LASIK and PRK surgery, crosslinking, clear lens extraction, implantable collamer lenses, and intraocular lens exchange. She also provides cataract surgeries, cornea transplants, and pterygium removals.

“I love being able to offer multiple options involving new technologies and surgical techniques. It is exciting to provide treatments that enable me to give my patients a second chance at good vision,” says Hu. “I ultimately chose ophthalmology because it is one of the few fields where you can practice both medicine and surgery to improve a patient’s quality of life.”

Hu earned her medical degree from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

“I’m grateful to be working with physicians and researchers who have mentored me throughout my medical career,” says Hu. “I feel a great sense of pride in caring for our patients and being a part of Moran.”

Hu sees patients at Moran’s University, Midvalley, and Redwood clinics.

Away from work, Hu enjoys spending time with her husband, skiing, hiking, visiting national parks, and cooking.
