Doximity’s 2024-2025 Residency Navigator has ranked the John A. Moran Eye Center's residency program No. 6 nationwide and No. 1 in the West.

Doximity, a networking platform for physicians, conducts an annual survey to determine its rankings. Medical school graduates use them to evaluate high-quality training programs when considering where to apply for residency.

Moran Vice Chair of Education Rachel G. Simpson, MD, said the rankings reflect the unique opportunities the program affords trainees. Moran residents gain extensive surgical experience beyond the national average and have protected time for research and outreach work.

“Our program has consistently been ranked among the Top 10 programs," said Simpson. “It’s a testament to the quality and dedication of our faculty, and the caliber of our residents. We know we provide exceptional residency training and I’m glad to see our program recognized again this year.”

Moran currently selects just four residency applicants from a pool of about 700 annually. Learn more about the program curriculum here and in the 2024 edition of Education FOCUS.
