Dr. Grudziak was awesome. She really explained my situation to me, answered my questions, and made me feel very confident about my upcoming surgery
I was pleasantly surprised about the success of the virtual visit. I had a strong hesitation about it especially since I had a surgical exploration/resection of bowel and primary repair of a ventral hernia. I was not sure how they could evaluate my abdomen virtually.
Dr. Grudziak assessed the situation and recommended that I stay at the hosptital and have surgery the following day The prolapsed stoma would not go back in and was not looking healthy. Her staff arranged for a room and I waited in the ER area until one was ready. Someone from the ER dept walked me up the waiting room on the 5th floor. She was very kind.
Dr. Grudziak took time to explain all the possibilities and risks with this next surgery, knowing what had happened during the last 3 surgeries. For me, there are many concerns which she listened to with understanding and compassion.
