Watch Alix's Journey

Alix Crittenden, professional dog sled musher and brain tumor patient treated at University of Utah Health and Huntsman Cancer Institute, shares her story.

Professional dog sled musher Alix Crittenden has built her life around the trails of Wyoming and the dogs she trains, races, and cares for. After a sudden medical emergency led to the discovery of a brain tumor, Alix was transferred to University of Utah Health and Huntsman Cancer Institute, where she received specialized care.

Alix shares what it was like to move from diagnosis through treatment and recovery, and the trust she placed in her care team during a time filled with uncertainty. Determined not to let cancer stop her from living fully or competing, Alix remained focused on caring for her dogs and returning to the sport she loves.
