Complete Your Pre-Visit Checklist

Open 7 Days Before Your Appointment

Although you can join your visit on any device, it’s easiest to complete your checklist on a computer. Please complete it as early as possible. It’s available seven days prior to your appointment.

  • Log in to your MyChart account.
  • Select Appointments/Admissions.
  • Find your virtual visit, click Pre-Visit Checklist and complete it.

If your checklist is incomplete, you won’t be able to join the virtual visit.

Join Your Appointment

15 Minutes Before Your Appointment

At 15 minutes before your appointment, log into the MyChart app on a device that has a working camera and microphone.

  • Find your appointment on the home screen or under APPOINTMENTS/ADMISSIONS.
  • Click TEST HARDWARE. If the test says "failed", call 801-213-5555 for assistance.
  • Select BEGIN VISIT. A VidyoConnect screen will open. Click JOIN on that screen to enter your virtual visit.
  • Click ALLOW if asked to access your microphone and camera.
  • If you have trouble joining your visit, switch to a different browser or device. Chrome and Safari work best.

Your provider will be with you as close to your appointment time as possible.

Tips for Your Virtual Visit

It might be a challenge to learn how to do your first virtual visit, but once you get the hang of it, the convenience will amaze you! Here are some tips to help you become a virtual visit pro:

Log in to Your Appointment Early

In case you need to make any last-minute technical adjustments, it's best to log in to your appointment early. Don't worry—you can also contact us for help!

Have a Pen and Paper Handy

Sometimes it's hard to remember everything you talked about at your appointment. Have a pen and paper handy to write down any notes.

Choose the Right Location

Do not join your visit while driving, on the go, or anywhere unsafe. If possible, you want to find a private, quiet area for your visit.

You also want to choose a background that is not in front of a window or has strong light. That way your provider can see you on the screen.

Minimize Distractions

It's all too easy to get distracted, and we understand that, but to get the most out of your appointment, you want to find a quiet place with good light.

Dress Appropriately

Being at home means being comfortable. Be sure to dress in something that you will feel comfortable in while seeing your provider.

Optimize Your Internet Connection

Connect to WiFi, not cellular data, so you won't get data charges from your phone service carrier. Also, during your visit, turn off other devices that use the internet so they won't interfere with your internet.

Test Your Internet Speed

To test your internet speed, go to A speed of 5mbps or more will work for your visit.
