Connecting Passionate People With Volunteer Opportunities

Due to COVID-19, we are not currently accepting applicants. Please check back with us later in the year for opportunities.

The Department of Volunteer Services offers a wide range of services to patients, visitors, and staff. We promote a balance between professional and personal lifestyles by encouraging a positive and productive work environment.

We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities and make an effort to match your skills and interests with the available placements.

Volunteers assist patients, visitors, and staff by providing information and support in many areas. Our volunteers truly make a difference in others' lives.

Discover New Places

University of Utah Health is an exciting place to volunteer. As one of the nation's premier medical and research centers, our hospital has been named among the top 10 academic medical centers in the country for the past five years in a row.

As part of the greater University of Utah Health facilities, the hospital also provides extensive training for medical students and other health care professionals.

But our most important mission is providing our patients and their families with excellent care and service.

Meet New People

In addition to making a significant contribution to the hospital and community, you'll realize other benefits by volunteering. It is an opportunity to meet new people from around the country, make new friends, explore new careers, and develop new skills.

Our volunteers come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Each brings his or her special talents to the hospital. Because there are so many different needs, every volunteer plays an important role on the team.

Explore Your Opportunities

With the growing demand for medical professionals today, hospital volunteers not only offer a much needed service, but also have a unique chance to familiarize themselves with the health care environment and to explore health care as a profession. Many of our volunteers gain valuable clinical and patient exposure, which is highly encouraged by most medical and professional schools.
